I never get into Dave & Buster's for $10 much less to see a UFC fight to boot. :142smilie

I can tell you the buzz for Strikeforce in Houston is minimal. Heard ticket sells are brutal.

I guess this sign just proves it.
I am sure the Strikeforce people pulled up today and said what the hell.

Maybe I'm dyslexic, but are you saying there is usually more than a $10 cover charge there? They don't have those places up in my neck of the woods. I'll see Sasquatch before I see a D & B's. :SIB

I think they have changed it now, but back in the day there used to be a $7 cover to get in on a Saturday night because they were so crowded.
It was always like a good hour wait for a dinner table and about that if you wanted to play pool.
I have not been in years and did get in for free on certain nights.

Oh, gotcha. I was only asking because my impression was that they were kind of "divey," so a big cover seemed strange. Maybe divey is too strong of a word, but I had heard they don't exactly attract 'upscale' clientele. But again, I've never set foot in one so I have no firsthand experience at all.

The restaruant is not exactly cheap and they do kick out kids at a certain hour(9:00 I think).
I would say the clientele is middle class or above for the most part. The Houston never seems to be filled with any low lifes.

Anyone know if getting there early and loitering around the main athlete entrance is worth it? I know where it is at Toyota Center and it really is not denied to the public outside.

Is Showdown Joe going to be in Houston?

As for "getting there early and loitering", I'd say yes. I have been to only UFC weigh-ins and if you "get there early" you can meet a ton of fighters. Of course the guys "weighing in" are concentrating on making weight. But tons of fighters "not fighting" are always hanging around.

As for StrikeForce events, I have no idea? They do some funny shit. You may get there early and they might arrest you:142smilie

But I'd say.....get there early and meet the fighters.
