layin....I never said Overeem stinks...I just said he was exposed.

Not sure what fight you were watching, but Werdum could barely stand up in the 3rd and Overeem did fuck all to KO him. Overeem gassed out after 5 minutes.

Exposed........big time.

Big time.

The "great striker" never came close to finishing a gassed out Werdum.

Overeem ain't close to the best, not even close, top 10 yes, but light years away from being the best. Fighting shit competition makes ya look better then ya actually are.

Kick, at worst Overeem is #3 so you can say he's not close to the top but he is. I would say Cain beats him(I could be wrong) and I think a fight between he and JDS would be awesome. JDS doesn't go for any take downs and pretty much is just a boxer. IMO Overeem would have a better shot at him than Cain.

One thing a buddy of mine that went to the fight and I talked about was the timeline of the SF fights and how they got delayed. Overeem didn't look as big and more importantly not as tight. You wonder if them changing the dates messed with his cycle and time coming off.

fwiw I'd rank Overeem #6 in the world. And he is a long long long way from cracking the top 2.

And yes the HW division is by far the worst in MMA.

JDS, Antonio Silva, Sergei Kharitonov, Cain Velasquez, and Frank Mir would be ahead of him on my list.

LOL, you really had to reach to put Mir in there. I'm not even going to comment on it because he's not even close.

Like I said I'll give you Cain and JDS.

Silva-Hard for me to put him over Werdum since he lost to him and they have a common opponent since that they both beat(Fedor). I don't see Silva being able to beat Overeem. He won't have the size advantage he does over a lot of guys and really where does he want the fight to go. His standup isn't as good and I can't see him getting Overeem to the ground. Silva has one good win and it was vs Fedor but at this point that might not even be a good win(especially if Fedor loses to Hendo)

Sergei is interesting. They've both KOd each other but Overeem is a LOT different fighter than he was in 2007. He was quite a bit smaller than Sergei in their last fight. I think his size would come in to play on the ground and in the clinch now.

Kick--

You are drinking too much UFC Kool-Aid if you put Mir in top 5 over Overeem or Barnett.

My Top guys current:
1.JDS
2.Cain
3.Big Foot
4.Overeem
5.Barnett

The next 5 is anyone's guess between:
Carwin,Werdum, Fedor, Kharitonov, and Mir(maybe 10).

I can't consider Kharitonov ahead of Barnett simply based on Kharitonov's ground effort vs. Monson.
If Monson had such a easy time on the ground with Kharitonov then what will Barnett do to him?

And last time I checked, Mir didn't fair well vs. Lesnar or Carwin so what makes us think he can beat any top 5 guy. Mir has wins over Cro Cop and Nelson. Mir is fooling people

Ok fine Overeem is 5 then....but I'd have no problem putting Carwin ahead of Overeem...so at the very best Overeem is 5. 5 tops.

Now if you think Barnett is top 5 then clearly you have spent way too much time in the Texas sun. Barnett has fought nobody since 1981.

Saying Barnett is top 5 in the division makes about as much sense as Roddick being the best tennis player that ever lived.

Why the fuck you give Barnett so much love:shrug: My fucking hell he has beaten nobody....none. Zip, zero, nadda.

One thing is for sure if you think Overeem is close to the top then you are a crack addict. A hard core crack addict.

Well you just considered Kharitonov for your top 5 so no excuses when Barnett mauls and submits him.

I guess you missed Barnett taking the mic. If he didn't do enough to convince you then I can have him call you.

The next round of the SF HW tourny is going to be an awesome show. I'm assuming they'll do it on the same night. Barnett vs Sergei will be an absolute war. I can see that fight being a pick em and I would have no clue which way to go. I really think Reem takes Bigfoot out. Bigfoot doesn't have the power in his punches that I think he will need to win. IMO there's no way in hell he out strikes Overeem. I really think Overeem takes it all and then you see a blockbuster fight between him and the winner of Cain and JDS.(I think Cain wins that one)

A gassed out Werdum out struck the "best striker in MMA" Overeem. So why can't Big Foot:shrug:

I think if Big Foot can get the fight to the 3rd round he'll win because of cardio. Of course Big Foot isn't exactly known to have the cardio of GSP.

Too bad kegray will miss the fight, him spending so much time in the Texas sun will kill him by then.

Barnett top 5:facepalm:

JDS, Antonio Silva, Sergei Kharitonov, Cain Velasquez, and Frank Mir would be ahead of him on my list.

So just to get this straight.
Barnett is not top 5 because he has not beaten anyone of quality recently.

You have Kharitonov top 5.
Kharitonov since '06 has beaten Arlovski, Mizuno, Ambriz, A. Overeem, Russow.
He has lost to Monson, A. Overeem, and Alek. Emelianenko.

Barnett since '06 has beaten Rogers, G. dos Santos, Siliga, Gilbert Yvel, Pedro Rizzo, Jeff Monson, Yoshida, Nastula, Mark Hunt, Alek. Emelianenko, and Nog.

Barnet lost to Nog and Crop Cop('06).

So Kharitonov went 1-1 vs Overeem and went 0-2 vs Aleksander and Monson.

Barnett went 1-1 with Nog and went 2-0 vs Aleksander and Monson.

Which fighter has done more since '06?

Barnett with ease.

And Kharitonov beat Overeem when Overeem was coming off of losing 3 of last 4 including 2 of those to Michael Knaap and Ricardo Arona(who was solid but never beat any top guys).

Kickserv always manages to back himself into a corner. To think Overeem isn't in the top 5 is insane. I personally think he's top 3 no doubt.
