Worried about this Brandon Marshall situation; anyone think the jets might be the better play?

At this point I am more comfortable picking the Jets because of the Marshall situation. That and the fact Cincy really has nothing to play for and will possibly rest starters.

K.C. also has nothing to play for but I don't think they will rest their starters.

Don't forget to put a bit of coins on the dogs regardless of your picks. I am not sure about your Pools but mine will finish this week so i hope to make some coins no matter what happens.

I'm going back and forth on this last pick..

Denver seemed like the obvious play,,,, but I'm second guessing this pick.

I do like that Denver won't know their fate before game time since the Jets play after their game and the Ravens play at the same time. Denver needs to win,,,(but so did the Giants,,we saw what happened there.)
Denver needs to win and have Houston beat New England and one loss by either Pitt, Ravens or the Jets to get in. Bottom line is they need to win and hope...

Jets win and they're in from what I understand,, If Cinci loses to the Jets,,they get the Jets at home in the first round of the playoffs,,,, Why would Cinci want to play hard and win this week? Rest their starters,, lose and get the Jets at home? Seems like a no brainer.....

2 left in our pool,,,,,Chances are,,the other guy will pick Denver,,, so we tie if I choose Denver,,,

what to do

Guys, don't forget Broncos also bench Tony Scheffler because of poor attitude. I got a feeling this locker room is ready to explode anytime.

Josh McDaniels has done a good job as a first-year head coach but there are always rooms for improvements.

I just read another stat about Mark Sanchez: in 2 cold-weathered games this year, guy got 1 TD and 8 INTs or something of that nature. It may be too much to ask the Sanchise to win this all-important last game for us but we may not have much of a choice.

I am willing to stake my pick on the Jets and like I said earlier, I will put some coins on Cincy + points for the peace of mind.

I also have San Francisco available but I am still not sold on Alex Smith plus the 49ers is not really blowing their opponents out.

Good luck to all survivors!

it does appear like something isnt right in Denver. I'm not saying the rest of the players will pack it in but do they have any team chemistry? their two offensive stars both benched with the possibility of going to the playoffs? this just doesnt make sense to me.

I'm also scared to test the Sanchise at night vs a good Cincy team.

Hardest decision of the year IMO and i have no idea the correct move...

I am currently looking at Buffalo as another option. If you look at the moneyline that Pinny throws out for the Bills, they have as much chance to win straight up as the Jets or the Broncos.

I do not think Jim Caldwell will play the starters for extended periods of time. He pulled them last week in the friendly confines of the Indy dome, there is no reason he should play them tomorrow in the terrible weather in upstate New York. The Bills is not a team that will make you sleep soundly at night but they are still fighting for jobs next year and that includes the head coach.

The other option in San Fran is not too bad although like i said earlier I don't have much confidence in Alex Smith. The Rams does get the first pick if they lose so worst-case scenario, i will be on the 49ers.

Whatever you choose, I would recommend putting some coins on the dogs, the amount is dependent on the pot of your pools, how many people left and what lines you can get. We all have made it this far, let's make sure we come out of this with a little something something after all is said and done.

Smart move doc, although i prefer Cincy + points for a good middling opportunity but I can't blame you for taking a stab at that juicy ML.

Here is the breakdown for a local, high-stake Suicide Pool ($200 entry fee, 800 participants to begin). Only 50 is left and they have to have their picks in by Friday afternoon.

In alphabetical order

1 Arizona Cardinals

19 Baltimore Ravens

1 Carolina Panthers

14 Denver Broncos

2 Houston Texans

4 Minnesota Vikings

1 San Diego Chargers

7 San Francisco 49ers

1 Tennessee Titans

Some real head-scratchers in there i.e. Arizona, Minnesota, and Tennessee but I guess they know what they are doing hence they are still around. Good distribution of picks. I am surprised to see nobody on the Jets.

Hope it helps!

We started with 50,,,,
just a 20.00 entry.....

I'm actually hoping Cinci wins,,,I'll make more$$ with that ML.....

A tie and split pot would make me less $$....

Good luck with your pool...

I'm very surprised nobody picked the Jets.....

Should be an interesting finish

After looking at those picks,,,I 'll bet some of those strange picks are hoping for a Denver loss and to have Oakland play eliminators for 1 more week,,,,That would eliminate a huge amount of players,,,,,Carolina isn't a bad play...

KC knocked off a bunch so I will split the pot with a few others for my big pool

I will go into the playoff in the smaller pool. Fun stuff.

Hope you folks made it out alright. This year has been somewhat an anomaly with this many people left at this time but I will take what I can get.

Question for the folks who need to pick a team (assuming with a clean slate) in the playoff: Is there any strategic advantage by picking team(s) on Sunday, seeing that you will have a good idea how much you will get out of the Pot, win or lose, because some of your *opponents* will either move on or get eliminated after Saturday games?

It will also be easier for you to figure out how much you should hedge, if the situation calls for it.
