Copa....Euros...ICC.....MLS with stretched squads. Soccer does not sleep.

Just some interesting (IMHO) facts and some value futures for right now on the Copa. Only in soccer can you celebrate 100 years of South American futbol by playing in the United States. God bless FIFA. God bless capitalism.

-Uruguay has always played big in this tournament for a country that is there size. But they don't have Suarez right away and will play in Glendale, then philly, then Santa Clara in a week

-Brazil has no Neymar, no Douglas Costa, no David Luiz, Marcelo, Thiago Silva, Firmino, Danilo, Fernandinho. Brazil is outside of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup with the players above. Not sure if this will matter in the group stage, but Brazil isn't going to intimidate anyone.

-Argentina is favored and feature Lionel Messi. Just like in 2015, 2011 and 2007

-Peru seems focused on World Cup qualifying, chile seems tame and Columbia seems to be overrated.

I think the value will be with the CONCACAF teams and I'm backing both the home teams to win

United States +975
Mexico +975

Usually the US will set out to attack in Friendlies and they fail to properly defend. But against Ecuador last week, they set up with two holding miss right in front of the back four. It was a boring 1-nil with a late winner. It's what in expecting they'll play tonight and a draw should be ok for both teams. Both sides can present the other problems in the attack but I think both sides will take a safe route unless they fall behind.

USA/Columbia draw +221

90 degrees on a synthetic pitch should favor the CONCACAF side who is used playing on that surface in the conditions.

Costa Rica +1/2 -139

I think a draw favors both teams here as well (even thought it didn't work out so well last night) so that's the way that I'm playing. Really think Brazil will be pragmatic this tourney and that's how Ecuador has always played.

Ecuador/Brazil Draw +259

Been trying to make a case for the Haitians because I like the way they play and Peru is playing a B team and bleeding some youngsters for World Cup qualification, but theyre just not going to be able to play for 90 minutes without making some mistake. Also whispers of injury concerns of the NASL players that are on Haiti is what pushed me over the edge

Peru -148

Like both CONCACAF teams today as they have more to prove. I think both teams will go for victory in the early game to get points ahead of Uruguay being at full strength and don't think there's any reason to back Jamaica and not back the win. Mexico is the form team in the entire tournament and have a lot to prove to the Arizona crowd which will be in full song pushing them on

Jamaica (Copa America) +224* vs Venezuela (Copa America)
Mexico (Copa America) pk -136* vs Uruguay (Copa America)

Thinking that all these lines are going to move against me, so getting in next week's game.

Bolivia is weak away from home and will play a scrappy Panama side on turf in heat.

panama +100

Argentina's tournament to lose and they have to get started well against quality opposition. Chile won their first Copa last year at home and this has to feel like a let down this year.

argentina +120

US played well against a strong team. If jurgen lets them play, they'll be fine. It's Costa Rica on US soil and it's not that strong of a tico side.

USA -114 2 units.

Moderately like Columbia but want to lock into his line which has the James injury worry built into it. I think he's playing and if he's not, they may be better off.

Columbia -113

The draw between Ecuador and Brazil set his group up as a race for goal differential to determine seeding. Big gulf in class between the teams above and Haiti and an experimental Peru.

Brazil -1.5 -155
Ecuador -118

Pretty sure were on all the same games.. Except i havent played Ecuador or columbia in their second game... yet.. im worried about columbia a little bit. although they won easily over the usa I feel they didnt do a ton in the flow of the game. took a PK and a corner , 2 dead ball plays to score.. outside of that it wasnt that big a difference, IMO.. I could see Paraguay getting a result.. so going to wait myself and see how I feel come Tuesday

Good call on Panama Bobby! I saw u & thunder on em & was a must play for me. Nothing like an 87th min goal to get the win. :toast:

Halftime.

There's goals in this one. Any questions that I had regarding chiles motivations were nonsense. Sanchez looks to be in the form of his life.

Chile/Argentina over 1 -120

Uruguay was the first great soccer power for a number of reasons, but once other South American powers began to modify their tactics, recruitment policies and coaching, Uruguay has had to compete with their undersized player pool with passion and commitment and by kicking the shit out of their opponents as they've been doing for the last 70 years. This game will not be beautiful.

Uruguay/Venenzuela under 2.5 -111

Also...like Jamaican defense to stall Mexico for much of the game and maybe nick a draw

US in need of a draw to get through which is why I think that the won looks so attractive. Great consistency last time out and mixed in with some switches to a 4-4-2 and the US looked slick. Romero's red card at the end of the last game will be costly for Paraguay as their midfield is already depleted. US may get pragmatic late but will be going for victory for the first 75 against. Paraguay side that's criss-crossed the country.

USA +117 2 units

In general, I prefer teams that play together for their clubs like Germany, Spain, England, Italy, turkey and he Ukraine and prefer teams that counterattack as it's easier to implement. Like the Liverpool/Spurs combo of this England side and like this Slovakia counter attack. Especially when it's coming against a country who is part of Great Britain who is looking ahead to being able to kick England.

Slovakia pick -113
Ingerland -106
