Nebraska is not very good. But it is a tough place to play. While Texas-OU is a tough environment, it isnt the same. There alos may be some significant weather issues. On a neutral field I think Texas would rout them. But Lincoln is no picnic.

The line is about where I thought it would be. People citing stats above are just silly. I dont care much about Nebraska's defense ratings - look who they have played. The stats are quite deceptive. I know what Kansas did to them. In Lincoln. As for Texas, the have defensive issues, again regardless of the stats. Missing Dockery hurts, but thye have plenty of line depth.

Texas is clearly the better team. But the better team doesnt always win. AS anyone who follows me knows I have no problem pciking against the Horns. But right now this is a no play to me. If it is rainy and windy as forecast, you have to consider a small play on texas simply because they will run the ball all day and that doesnt suit Nebraska.

So. Cal
This will be the best offense texas has played this season and the first real road game for the freshman QB. Factor in that Nebraska is 26th in the nation in Pass efficiency defense with the homefield advantage makes for a long day for the kid.

Plus who that is really a good football team has Texas beat. Personally I think Missouri would give them all they can handle.

my 2 cents. gl all

I disagree completely. You ask Who has Texas beat? But Who has Nebraska beat? Nebraska better offense than OSU :mj07:

i think nebraska has a very legit chance to win this game. Both teams have a net +1.1 yards per play difference over their opponents season to date. This tells me line value lays with nebraska catching 6 at home where they are even better on offense than overall. We'll really see if the books are begging for texas money if the line stands still all week with overwhelming majority percentage of bets on them. I'll take NEB.

Ok, so you laugh at the question I asked then ask one yourself? Seriously, provide some insight as to why you think the comment is a joke rather than leaving it open ended. This carries no weight my friend.

This from Pinnacle Sports:

The initial opener of Texas -8 drew a flurry of sharp activity, all of which was on Nebraska. Most of the public is on Texas and there are three times as many wagers on the Longhorns, including most of our larger Asian players. This game has been heavily traded, with the sharps refusing to allow the line to drift to Texas -7.

Ok - my quote was not who really good has Nebraska beaten it was and for the last time "Who really good has Texas beaten?"

This is an 18 year old kid playing his first road game of the year in Lincoln. I will take the competent home team plus the points against an unproven Texas team in my eyes.

Gl with your plays fellas. We can talk as much as you all would like about this on Saturday night sunday or monday when the situation unfolds.

Thrown, no disrespect to your capping, but McCoy and the Longhorns has done nothing but improve from week to week and they could have very well beat OSU if they wouldn't have changed their game-plan and stuck with the run...I would hate to see this team a second time...I think Charles is going to have a BIG day and the TEX defense will have a solid day...plus I think Sweed will be a tough match up for NEB...I'm look for a score similar to the NEB/USC game...but you never know NEB will be playing with a lot of emotion...GL

It is going to be wet and cold for gametime.

Longhorns are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games as a favorite of 3.5-10.0.

Cornhuskers are 16-2-1 ATS in their last 19 home games vs. a team with a winning road record.

Longhorns are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games after allowing more than 280 yards passing in their previous game.

Cornhuskers are 38-14-2 ATS in their last 54 games after allowing less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game.

I dont know I think the cornbusters get the cover.

GL to everyone.

I agree. I'm anxious to see how it unfolds.

Nebraska, ranking wise, does have a stout run defense. Maybe something to consider.
Also- Nebraska ranks very well in turnover margin as does Texas. I think this favors the hometeam. Also, Nebraska is very disciplined as far as penalties go ranking 24th in the nation in fewest penalties commited.

Just some things I ran across earlier.

I dont laugh at the question of who has Texas beaten, I think Oklahoma is a good team, but besides that, they have beaten nobody. I was laughin that you think Nebraska has a better offense than OSU, which it does not. And I dont think there is one person who has watched these teams play more than once that would believe that. That is why i was laughing. GL with the play, as I am not on it. I think Texas wins but there is alot of trends and the fishy line movement(or lack there of) is definitely keeping me off this game. gl withyour plays this week

the line opened @ Texas -8 and the public is hammering the longhorns with 81% of the bets placed. what do the books do? Drop the line to Texas -6.5. This is a heavily baited line.

I will be on the huskers getting 7 @ home all day

gl :SIB

....I see the line opening @ Texas -4'

Although I do think Nebraskas offense is totally overrated, simply by the line movement they are the play here. Vegas is begging for UT money. Nebraska or nothing. gl2a

I hear folks saying that but I dont buy it. i really think the line is where I expected. I dont know how anyone can say the line is begging for Texas money. Heck, you have a once beaten team at home against a frosh QB and some injury issues getting a td. I could argue it is begging for Husker money. This is one of those nonsensicel things that people will twist to suit their agenda for either side.

I really think this game is a no play either way.

completely agree on this point. its amazing how some will twist stuff to rationalize a play. what did people expect this line to be? to me, this is texas or nothin. this line/setup is almost identical to ohio state and iowa. very capable home dog playing against a premier program that is looking to re-establish conference hegemony.
