Super Bowl Attendees

A buddy and I are thinking about it. Neither of us have ever been. I would fly in on Thursday evening and depart on Monday 8am.

I looked up some hotel/flight deals, and found some good deals. These are in the same price range:

Bellagio
Wynn
Mandalay Bay
Venetian
Mirage

Are any of these recommended? Also, would I need to rent a car?

mandaly bay is a great place but the location sucks....it's the last hotel in the line of hotels....imo the best hotels for you would be the bellagio, the venetian, or the mirage because they are near each other....& no you don't need a car because you can either walk (great walking town) or take a cab....

I rented a car Sat Feb 8-Thu Feb 11, for $171

I paid almost $250 for cabs in November!!!

I'm not much into sight-seeing, so I'll hold off on the auto.

Just called my cohort. He is going with or without me, and is basically calling me out as a wuss if I don't go. My only possible issue is that I am already going on a trip to Chitown in April sans-family, and am also going to Disney World with family during Mardi Gras (which I believe is the week following the SB.)

Thanks for input, AR and YYZ. I will eliminate Mandalay Bay. Mirage is the cheapest of the remaining places on my list, so will likely end up there.

Since it's your first time, go with something nice. I've been a few times and don't mind the Imperial Palace as I'll be without the wife... I'm right across the street from the big boys... :142smilie

I just booked on Expedia, but bought a refundable trip just in case. I just realized that in the event the Saints travel in the playoffs, I would not be able to attend play off games and Vegas a couple of weeks later.


Will be glad to meet up with some of you that weekend, and maybe try to catch the game with the group. It would be sweet in the saints were in it, but I think that Minny is the team to beat in the NFC.....

Thanks for the heads up. My deal (expedia)is in the $700 range at the Bellagio including flight, so the room seems to roughly the same price.

and you can pick some shit hotel for that too. you're only using it for the game :SIB
