Thinking about selling it, along with the rest of my remaining sports collectibles.
A place close to me had a few B&W signed Splinter pictures and he had them, in a frame (big whoopee), at between $800 and $1200.
Methinks that's too much.
Seen some ads from the States for Splendid auto's cheaper.
Still, a cool picture.
Colour, in a batting stance and the sig is totally kosher.

What should I be looking to get on this mother?

Good idea.
I'll take a look.
Assuming I can figure out how to check out "completed auctions."
(got a stolen high school diploma somewhere)

I'd hope to find a buyer in town.
Shipping is lame, unless I have funds up front.
Should be a reasonable time to sell, being baseball season and all.
I've done good dealing with individual collectors.
I think it was 3 shows, I did, selling cards and other stuff. Was in Calgary but was close to the height of the card monstrosity (late 90's).

My Hendrix has ended...
:(

Alright...apparently said diploma is worth shit.
If Jack or anybody else can tell me how to search "completed auctions" at ebay then I would be anti-non-appreciative.
I did a few searches and couldn't de-funk.
Did find some Teddy stuff, however.

Regardless...application remains

"advanced search" however....you have to be signed in for that feature to work.

P.S.
If anybody here is interested--I can get a picture taken and post it on here.
I know that several Mass. members are harmonizing.
I think it's a beauty.
I'm not looking to rape the locks, either.
From a most reliable source, in Calgary; one Harvey Davids of Collector's Corner.

ok....I have a reasonable idea of the range, at least.
I wish I could find someone who would appreciate.
I really have no kids (not really, but truly) or even nephews or what-have-you to pass such on to.
I figure I might as well trade for coin while I still can barely breath.

i.e.
congrats on the smoking shiite, Jack.
Maybe me, too, in another 10 years or so (assuming still live)

ok, Old School, I will.
I don't have a digital cam, myself, but have a friend who's close and does and we're hooking up sometime this week.
Just a batting stance pose on some grassy field.
Clear, for sure.
And the sig is solid and totally legit.

Anyways, I'll get it slapped within by Thursday latest.
I'd prefer a move in person with someone in town but if interest was shown within then I'd certainly be interested as well.

Wish I hadn't sold all those dang Gretzky cards, including several rookies, but did very well on them.
A Nolan Ryan rookie :)mad: )...shoulda kept but got $900 on it a million years ago and it was VG at best.
Frig...Steve Carlton rookie, some nice '67 stuff and other shit I probably can't even remember. '73, 4 and 5 sets with the Schmidt, Brett etc rookies.

Did okay.
Can't complain.
Was really my introduction to the day-to-day baseball happenings, circa '82-'83, and why I began following the sport daily.

The true love of it quickly followed.

Lawtchan nailed it. If you don't have a COA or some kind of documentation that the autograph is authentic, you'll probably have a hard time getting anything for it. With all the fakes out there, people just don't want to buy something that hasn't been authenticated. I would get it verified before putting it up for auction, if you haven't already.

Towards the end of Williams's life his son mad him sign a ridiculous amount of things even while he was on his death bed. The son was a real piece of work. Essentially he flooded the market with signatures right before he died.

Mantle stuff would be equally desirable as Splinter stuff--maybe more so.
Just guessing, but $200-$400 if in good condition with a beauty signature.

As for the verification, chances are slim I could get such done here in Toronto.
I got it in about '87 or '88, from a very reputable dealer as mentioned.
I've also seen several other Williams' sigs and it totally comports to those I've seen.

Might advertise...I dunno.
Might just sit on it.
Could pass it on to a cousin's kid or maybe to my brother-in-law's kid.

Money is far from everything.

I'll post a display, either way.
