Nicolas Kiefer, when injury free, is pretty much an unstoppable force. Chela, who was ill on court during yesterday?s match against Oliver Rochus, may not have been in great health today, but Kiefer?s game would have a challenge for most ?well? players too. Starting up the match with three aces in the first game, Kiefer said loud and clear that he wanted this one. He broke serve in the next game and again later in the set, taking the first 6-1. Though Chela tried to fight back, he was unable to put a dent in Kiefer?s game. Kiefer?s serve was accurate, contributing to several aces, and his shot choice was right on target. He knew what he was doing and the look in his eyes told fans that this was going to be a short match. Kiefer entered the second set with the same mentality that he had in the first. He broke serve in the first game and again in the third to take a 3-0 lead. It was at this time that Chela took a seat and decided to retire. Kiefer will next play tomorrow in the semi-finals against the winner of this afternoon?s Morrison/Srichaphan match, both who will make for an interesting and exciting match.
