in all seriousness...if you believe the refs were the difference in that game, you are too stupid to be betting and will end up broke.

this was a pretty standard game. baylor lacked the menticism to keep up with duke. it cracked under pressure.

If 'menticism' means what I think it does, no, Baylor doesn't have it. That's all Baylor needed, menticism.

Duke apologists slay me, maybe from watching all the Duke games, you become blind to the blatant calls that always go their way, but I avoid watching Duke at all costs, it is much better for my blood pressure. The charge call, the pushing in the back for every offensive rebound, the swinging elbow that somehow gets a T on Baylor, it's all menticism.

I will agree with you on one count, though. If anyone continues to bet against Duke, they will go broke. It's been proven over and over again, Duke will get the calls, and they will win because of the calls. Just once I would like an evenly called game, but that will never happen.

The fact is 2 of those offensive rebounds should have been over the back fouls.Where Baylor fucked up was with Dunn letting Scheyer get step into wide open 3's when he wandered into the middle for whatever reason.Dunn was the reason on the perimeter,I think.He was always out of position taking bad gambles.Just funny how Duke can bang away but when Baylor did they got a foul.Some weak calls late on Baylor.Duke made the Ft's like they should but I still hate them even if I had them.

It is easy to get offensive boards when the refs put away the whistles on you.
The FT long rebound kick out for 3 looked over the back to me.
Just did a DVR rewind and it could have easily been called had the guy not been wearing a Duke jersey of course. :142smilie

Why does Jon Cryer get away with swinging a elbow in a dead ball. You can't throw an elbow period. AND A DEAD BALL ELBOW.

Butler vs. West Va. or Mich. St. vs. Duke? I'm guessing the latter. Better make your plays accordingly.

Why didn't Baylor just make more shots? Then they would have won in spite of the refs...

Man, I hate when people don't understand that calls make a difference. They should have gotten more rebounds, sure. They should have made more shots. BUT....they should have gotten a fair fucking game and they'd be playing next week.

But you can't do that with Duke. Scheyer is one of the dirtiest players ever. Duke is a joke, been screaming it for years and years. You can't get a fair shake.

The funny thing is ESPN has not even mentioned a word about it.
If this went the other way then the first comment would have been to Vitale about if Duke was robbed. And he would have said yes.

I dont know about anyone else in this thread but I had no side in the game and clearly saw 1 call win the game for Duke.

i had baylor, and i lost a large amount. i have no problem blaming refs where they are the cause, rather than a minor contributing factor. this was just the usual example of spastic 'athleticism' giving way to great skill and brains and self-control.
