imo, the knock on Mack was when you declared Leach a better coach. Leach is a brilliant offensive mind but that where the comparison ends.

i've seen him take his team completely out of a game by making bone-headed decisions, particularly opting to go for it on 4th-and-whatever in his own territory. he's very gimmicky and not very successful at it either. he runs his team like a 14 year old kid on a Playstation.

and i don't need to defend Mack. his record speaks for itself. the bashing came at a time when OU had the better of us in the beginning of 2000. since 2004, he's the best big game coach in college football. period.

I never can understand when people get their panties in a wad. Look back at the things I said, think about it for a second and then maybe you'll realize you're off base. I never said Leach was better than Mack, I just said Mack isn't better than Leach. As for Leach being gimmicky, I'll agree but to say he's not successful with it is reaching. We're not Texas but we've done pretty well under him and have been getting better.

I do wish your team luck this weekend and the rest of the way. If Texas wins then I will be rooting for them to win out.

Oh yeah, if anyone is going to be in Lubbock I would love to buy you a drink. My wife and I are headed out tomorrow. We'll be doing power hour at a few pubs and then having a martini or two at J's off of 19th tomorrow evening. On Saturday we'll be tailgating starting at noon.

Have fun at the game. Sounds like it's going to be a blast. Bunch of students already putting tents up. My wife and I are off to Vegas in the morning so I'll be watching the game saturday night in a sportsbook donning the double T.

I will say this about Mack Brown (I'm guilty of bad mouthing Mack) - Last year he ran a fake field goal, fake punt and onside kick that gave UT 3 extra posessions against Tech in a game that was decided by less than three touchdowns. Mack out coached Leach in that game.
