While I agree that Welker's dropped pass should have been caught, if you are going to play the blame game, what about NE being called for 12 men on the field in the 1st quarter to nullify a Giants fumble recovery. I believe the G-men scored a TD a few plays later.

I know there is always one "glaring" play that everyone remembers but not fair to dump the entire loss on Welker.

By the way, I HATE the Patsies and was glad that they got beat, but Welker shouldn't be 100% to blame for this loss.

This is exactly right. Can 1 play be the difference in a game, definitely, missed FG is the easiest example. But rarely can you blame the loss of a game on 1 person.

Many plays can be picked out but if manning doesn't make that great sideline pass things would look very different. And I hate Eli.

dude, I don't know how you can hate Eli, he's proven to be one hell of a pressure clutch player. Same as I don't see how people hate on Brady. Guy completes 16 straight, 20/23 and people say he sucks. Not sure what they watch on how they process it.
Welker himself put the game on that missed catch. Granted New England could have fumbled or something, but even if they were held to a field goal Giants would have had very limited time left. Remember they had to blow 2 timeouts earlier in the half.
The 12 men on the field was a killer, Brady throwing that intentional grounding was a killer also. Giants didn't play a clean game either, they fumbled three times. But it didn't matter, manning came up with that great pass, and better catch. They won the game.

N.E. didn`t lose because Brady made a bad pass, or Welker dropped the ball, or too many players on the field earlier, or Tom giving up a safety on the first set of plays.

For christ sakes, you are winning 17/15 the Giants need to go 80 yds with minutes left.

VERY SIMPLE STOP THEM. If you can`t do that, you deserve to lose.:0074

I hate him because he is good, I did not say he sucks. I give him credit for a great pass that ended up winning the game for the Giants.

The play no one here is talking about was the giants first td. The d co ordinator calls the perfect defense for the play and the middle lb runs a five feet PAST the line of the football to the receiver. If he just takes two steps to his right instead of five its an interception, plain and simple.

Watch the game Ed and stop listening to Collinsworth. It was legit a bad throw. Brady did it all night. These announcers just don't like to call out "superstars"

you're clueless when it comes to making throws in windows if that's the case. that was a PERFECT throw. if he throws it anywhere else, there's no guarantee Welker even has a chance to catch it.

Sure, he could have made that catch and it wouldn't have been so spectacular. My only point is that if Brady puts that ball where it should have been, the catch would have been made.

The announcers rarely call out superstars. It's pathetic. Then guys like Ed, and all the guys that work for me, go around spouting off about welker making that catch 100 out of 100 times. That statement is so far off

Def agree that play was more Brady's fault than Welker's. Bad throw that required tremendous catch.
