How would we Pay for the Professors to TEACH ONCE A MONTH....

Out of morbid curiosity, what the Hell are you talking about with this comment?

I'll chime in here to a small extent. Guessing I am probably the only one in this forum currently enrolled in college. Costs in college are going through the roof for students and for colleges. My college just went through tremendous cuts, inclusive of classes, professors, services and sports. It is a state college, so a large part of the cuts come from above and what is being cut nationally and state wide with budget concerns. Yes, costs are going up for students. Forgiving student debt is an interesting idea, but I don't think fair nor practical in the real sense of fairness.

I think it's kinda sad that so many people here and otherwise are ripping college students and the education system in general. Many who benefited from this system themselves. Most who REALLY rip college students I'm sure didn't go to college themselves and that's kinda normal. Make fun of others because of your own shortcomings - nothing new here.

Things are different now, in many ways. Tough to find a job, for the educated and non-educated. But forgiving debt that you signed up for? I just don't get that.

Honestly, Sponge. Sometimes I think you just vomit whatever pops into your head onto the screen.

Neo-cons trying to keep the country stupid?

The education system, in general, iis populated with people of a more liberal mindset.

This country is a disgrace when it comes to education and if u don't think the likes of Fox News doesn't like that then u are as dumb as
Skully. When u have politicians supporting sending American jobs overseas and starting wars just to pad their buddies and they get away with it, then yes this country is stupid. As Tramp says it is a rich vs poor issue. If u are rich u can afford it. If u are poor step up and take a chance and hope u don't drown on those school loans. amazingly school loans are bankrupt protected. Isn't that nice? Yet the banks get bailed out and after getting bailed out they start awarding bonuses the very next month. Do u think neo-cons would rather have a very smart nation? If we did these fuks would all be rounded up and shot.

Very true, Chad.

And let's not forget that in early 2010, Republicans in BOTH houses unanimously opposed student loan reform. Reform that the CBO estimates will save American taxpayers $61 Billion over 10 years.

Since the bank-based student loan program began in 1965, commerical banks had been receiving guaranteed federal subsidies to loan money to students, while assuming none of the risk. That gravy train ended last year and the Banksters and their prostitute politicians resent it.

Congrats to the Cards!!!

Yep Trench and the reason they opposed it was just another bullshit lie to con people. They said they were afraid people in banking would lose jobs while out of the other side of their mouths they were enjoying watching more companies flock overseas and fighting for those companies to have that right. Now they are foaming out of the mouth to stop a much needed jobs bill when these assholes were so called worried about those bankers jobs  . I bet if 50 billionaires all decided to donate 10 billion a piece to fund a jobs bill, these cock suckers on the right would somehow find a way to defeat it. U have to be one dumb mother fuker not be able to see their agenda and an even dumber one to vote for these handjobs if u are in the 99 percent. Dumb or just some greedy shitbag who would slice their mothers throat for that next dollar.

personally,
I do not have a problem with student loans.

I have a problem with the costs of college and the exponential rise in the costs of college.

It is not worth it to go anymore, IMO.

guess what

in China students that have the grades go to college free.

They understand the concept of building a intelligent and resourcefull society.

Not beating down the ones that cant pay for it.

Or do not want to be burdened for the rest of their lives by huge fees.

pitty really
