Just so so you know Pengy I too bought good mattresses because there is a huge difference. Paid 1700 recently because it was same as before...... Amazing Sealy King with many coils of whatever. Like others said, 8 hours or more a day in this place. Needed to justify my point of calling you out. Sleep well, Beauty.

I never knew about this but mattress sales are a huge business. You wouldn't know because those mattress stores are always empty inside. You can't really get honest reviews online because most of the sites and reviews are put out there by mattress affiliates and that's a ridiculously huge business. Some affiliates make 7 figures a year. Who would have known that?

The last mattress I bought was 2005 for like $2500. I ordered it online, had it delivered, put it on the bed and have slept on it for 14 years no problems. Now I have been getting up in the morning feeling achy and think maybe it's time for a new bed. So I start looking. Firm, plush, medium, hybrid, coil, foam, pillow top, etc, etc, etc. WTF?

I think I'll go to some stores and lay on a bunch to see how they feel to figure out what firmness I like best, then go home and order online. If you buy online most of these places offer a full money back guarantee for 120 days to a full year, no questions asked.

Maybe I got lucky with my last purchase and got a good one? I'd hate to get a mattress that I hate.

Consumer reports says there's no reason to spend any more than $1200 for a mattress. I get the feeling that Tempur-Pedic is a big ripoff because when you find some real reviews, there are some pissed off people out there that paid $4K plus for a mattress that they hate.

Those savvy types all seem to say, "go the the back of the store". The overpriced stuff is right up front. I've also heard that like in most lines, you pay for the name, not the product. Some beds are exactly the same, but are way different in price, just based on names.

All these overpriced mattresses and pillows. Three of every 10 commercials are for some overpriced mattress or that fuckng MyPillow. Fuck that guy and his pillow.

Honest to god, it's sleeping, it isn't that hard. When you are tired you will fall asleep. I fell asleep driving a car once, you know why? Because I was tired, not because I had some super comfort, body form fitting, pillow top driver's seat, it's because I was tired.

People are spending thousands on this shit and it's just a waste of money. That flip, fold, contort, feather top, foam top, vibrating, overpriced piece of shit won't help you sleep any better. Why do you think they spend so much on advertising them? Because they are making a killing on people spending so much money on them.

I'm sure someone here will tell me how they bought one and it's changed their life, but all it changed was your bank account.

Nobody will ever be able to top organized religion when it comes to fleecing people out of their money, but these mattress people are making a good run at it.

Before I saw the content of your post I would have said the cost of a college education....
