Thought guys were way to hard on you in last thread along with the negative one on this one.........................I felt sorry for you. You said some awful immature and dumb things, but I don't know why people on here felt necessary to beat you down even after you snapped back at them. Goal should have been to help a guy out and more importantly some kid who has it rough enough being in the middle of the situation.....Good luck buddy. Hope things work out.

Seriously? I guess there is a chance of a reversal but the comments made are very sad. Pending on how long this guy has been around the kid, there maybe no chance. People don't change over night. It was like he was justifying his behavior at first. :scared
Nothing gives me the right other than freedom of speech. If you are going to come onto a forum and say what an ass you are to a 12 to 13 year old stepson then you deserve it and obviously your wife who married you knows your disdain for her son and knows your bad relationship. She knows you don't get along. Yeah I will say she is a dipshit and I would say the same thing to my sister and friend if in the same situation.
These chicks get divorced, fall in love and the only thing that matters is the love, I am sure she loves and cares for the child but it is idiocy that makes these women marry men who do not get along with her children. I would tell that to my sister's face if she put my nephews through the situation so I don't consider it an attack. What ya got is a 13 year old kid who is confused, has a bad relationship with 2 men in his life, a feeling of competition, and resentment that her mother left his dad only to get caught up in some asshole. (in his eyes)

Its not just you it happens everywhere. The sad thing is women are attracted to this shit. Your wife probably sees your good traits and thinks, "well he is such a good guy, but if only I can him to really understand Johnny then everything will be perfect." "And we will have balloons, streamers, and cake the day I can change him."
She thinks you are going to change, if you ask her I bet she thinks how you are going to change in her perfect world. So man up and change.

Based on is occupation, he certainly has seen his share.
Don't be a "Disneyland Dad" with the boy.
do the ordinary "Dad Things" with him, little league, bowling, golfing....

3 kids from first marriage, 1 child lives with me, lot's of adapting still !
My second marriage, she had a 7 year old, and let me tell you, that kid was a handful. And of course the issues with the ex ! The punk never even wanted to meet me, even when we moved out of state.
Try your best to establish a friendship with the kids dad, let the kid know that you don't hate his father. Even if you do have heartburn with him don't let the kid know.
