Less Guns would be good, but needs to be targeted gun reduction. I don?t own guns, but I don?t want to limit gun owner rights for those who handle their weapons responsibly. Urban gun violence is out of control. I read last year that urban gun violence is increasing dramatically, and, what really stood out is over 90% Of victims of gun violence in nyc are minorities like me. I like The idea of removing gun ownership Rights from any individual Convicted of a violent crime. Then increase sentences for unlawful gun possession to 10 year mandatory minimum. This should deter the criminals and lock up those who are unwilling to comply.
I?ve been told It?s racist to suggest that gangs are out of control even though gangs Seem to be comprised of people of all races and ethnicity with the one common denominator being they are almost always people low on the Socioeconomic pole. Gangs and urban crime are class issues, Not race issues.
