from your and bucs` mouth to god`s ear.....

i`m hoping the bookmakers are looking through the same rose colored glasses that you guys are....

if i see nog-120/mir-120 i`m making my first ever trip to vegas...

he can`t stand with nog....and to my knowledge, nobody`s ever subbed nog...

talk about protected fighters.....check mir`s record....garbage....

imo,they`re on different levels...

Correct, Nogueira has never been submitted. I would also like to argue that Frank Mir's BJJ is as good as anyone he's faced. Also, as far as standing with Nogueira, Big Nog is far from dangerous on his feet. He's only got 3 wins via TKO/KO. This fight is interesting because both guys have great BJJ and neither are standing fighters. Should be interesting to see where both guys chose to fight this match...

There's a very good chance this fight goes all 5 rounds and goes to a decision. As we've seen with Cecil Peoples and company that anything is possible.

i don't see mir subbing rodrigo, however, rod was kneebarred by ricco rodriguez in the adcc's. moreover, barnett was wrenching a kneebar as time ran out in their 1st fight, a kneebar that had rod screaming. and we saw mir kneebar brock. clearly rod is a better grappler than brock, but rod appears to be most vulnerable to kneebars.

if there's a guy at hw who can sub rod it's mir, as well as barnett.

it will have to be early though as mir has yet to give any indication that he has even average endurance.

that said, i see mir gassing and getting tkoed.

i respect you muhr,but imo,mir couldn`t hold barnett`s jock.....probably not rodriguez` either,before he went off the deep end.......

i look at mir`s record and all i see is tim sylvia........antoni hardonk?...wes sims?....tank?..lord,ian freeman stopped him....

how`s he attained this rep and manage to avoid pratically every decent heavyweight to come through the ufc?....certainly every heavyweight that has a sub or wrestling game...

the guy`s a figment of dana white`s imagination...`

we`re talking about the 2nd best heavyweight in the world(until someone proves otherwise) vs a guy that`s gotten an outrageously ridiculous positive rep off as soft a resume as i can recall off the top of my head......

a guy that gets winded walking up a steep flight of stairs....

please deity.....let these odds be -200 or lower....:00x11

oh, don't get me wrong, i think mir is extremely overrated. i think the motorcycle accident that mir had allowed people to make excuses for him. without that accident mir is still the same bum he's always been.

i just think that if the old tank abbott had a puncher's chance that mir has a submissioner's chance.

again, i don't expect mir to pull it off, but he can probably torque a limb nastier than anybody.

:yup

I think Mir possesses some explosiveness that Nog doesnt have....... Nog has too much pride to tap, but Mir is just the guy to snap a limb.

Frank Mir got into a motorcycle wreck, that's why he hadn't really fought alot of guys. When he came back, he got fed Brandon Vera. Mir wasn't even 100% at the time and should'nt have been fighting. The Doctors told him he'd be lucky to walk again, yet alone fight again.

As far as Ian Freeman, watch that fight. Freeman is in a knee bar and throws a CLEARLY illegal KICK to the head and Big John just stands there like nothing happened and eventually that was the end of the fight. Freeman was getting owned on the ground until that illegal kick.

I'm not trying to say Mir is going win, because I think there's a good chance he loses. I was just saying that he's got a better shot to win his "title match" then Randy does IMO.

Frank Mir has as good as anyone's BJJ and ground game, there's no debating that. Nogueira will probably want to keep the fight standing, but have no problem going to the ground. He'll be the clear cut favorite no doubt. My guess is that the odds open up around -350.

Well, considering it was deemed life threating and eventually the doctor said he might not ever walk again. He snapped his femur in 2 places and tore every ligament in his knee.

Excuses or not, they're legit reasons why he struggled. I still don't think he's the same fighter he was/could've been. He's pretty much lost over 2years of fighting and training IMO.

Mir is only 29years old, he's still got alot of time to improve.

i shouldn't have written "without that accident mir is still the same bum he's always been." but i didn't think much of him before the accident for similar reasons that gardenweasel wrote.

and perhaps it's my bias, but mir's accident appears to have been a turning point in the public perception of his abilities. before the accident i don't recall as many people suggesting mir was great, but after the accident the number of people claiming pre-injury mir to have been great has increased. the reason given for why he's not the great fighter he once was is his accident.
