It's the very first respiratory virus pandemic in history so it stands to reason that this would be true.
I'm not sure what point you're trying to make with this statement?! All previous pandemics eradicated by vaccine were the first of their kind?

There have been numerous respiratory viruses, and this one would be the first eradicated by vaccine (See: Flu shot) if it happens to turn out that way. These vaccines are highly effective, particular Moderna it would appear. I?m glad I am vaxxed, But we shall see if the vaccine is able to eradicate COVID-19. In my opinion, There will always be COVID-19, just like there will always be influenza, so I wonder at what point will the amount of COVID-19 cases, vents and deaths be acceptable. At what point will the mandates cease. At what point will New Orleans remove the vaccination passport requirement. Only time will tell, But I get the feeling We will be dealing with Covid mandates for a very long time

You're correct in that there have been other respiratory pandemics, however they were eradicated by vaccine. Tuberculosis, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, H1N1, Influenza, and to some degree HIV/Aids although I feel that one of a bit of a stretch. Anyway, I am glad I'm vaccinated as well and having twin 7 year old grandsons with me after school every day has certainly raised my personal awareness of the severity of this situation.
Not to change the subject but I was very happy to read that you and the family are in good health and safe now. It sounds like you went through a lot man and I'm just glad you guys are all okay.
As far as the whole pandemic itself and all the ANTI-VAX and science denial, I'm more or less just done with it all. I firmly believe that the only way to truly eradicate it is to mandate the vaccine. I believe it will be "required" for all intensive purposes by society sooner rather than later but it would expedite it if Congress were to legislate it as mandatory.
When I say by society I mean it will happen because vaccination will be required to travel domestically or internationally, military requirement, civil requirement, insurance carriers for health and life policies will require it, restaurants, department and grocery stores will follow suit sooner or later.

I guess the fact that they voted 18-0 to give a third dose to people 65+, and those who are compromised, escaped you? How typically convenient!

Tough loss for Mr Biden?s rushed and poorly conceived booster plan. Good news for us. Let?s allow vaccines, natural immunity and our immune systems do their job. Excellent work by the FDA, it?s a shame multiple resignations resulted from Mr. Biden trying to force this through.

Golfing today with a regular who was sick last week. Turns out he had Covid. It's his second time with it. (No vaccine, and still not getting one)
