As far as Willy Beamon's endorsement career track; I agree, but I think Oliver Stone needed to condense a couple year's worth of progress into one season for the sake of the film. Even if Willy had gotten some local endorsements, there's no way he would've gotten the national deals that quickly, and FOR SURE would not have already been staring in his own music video.
