have not given indiana their just dues,i had them a couple times even after beating duke i said fluke.

well they hit the 3 right before the half and never panicked. one hell of a coaching job would like to say it was a fluke again, but when you are this deep in the team that is better prepaired wins and that was indiana,ok had their chance and didnot make use of it and indiana never gave up and were more poised and had better court and body pressence.

nice job indian and big ten fans.

i am still alittle shocked that they are here but they earned it.

agreed.....can't call it a fluke anymore....this team is a TEAM....and they are for real. Here's to hoping that KU and MU beat the hell out of each other in a double overtime game....:D

This team is a good example of what the NCAA tourney is all about - the team that is playing the best ball at the time wins out. No one in their right mind gave the Hoosiers a shot coming into it. But, have to agree with above. At this point, they are a fluke no more and Davis is one hell of a coach. The Coach Knight contingent in Indiana must be beside themselves.

BETTER COACH WON THIS GAME! seemed like 3/4 the way thru 1h indiana was tensed -when oklahoma took the 8 point lead at the 800 mark of 1h indiana turned it around and really never looked back! i had oklahoma big in this game but never really gave indiana a real chance in this game. thought ok would control the inside and shut down the trey's! well i guessed wrong and all i can say is this the new england patriots of this years superbowl??

we could have the best two basketball states as far as enthusiasm throughout in HS and College where basketball is king if Kansas wins today......

Indiana vs. Kansas.......wouldn't get much better than that......

It's hard to admit for a Purdue fan, but despite losing my wagers, I found myself clapping for Mike Davis toward the end of the game. It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Indian U won this game, it sure as hell wasn't handed to them.

Those are Still Bobby Knight's kids. This coach has to earn respect, and we shall see how good he is 4 years from now when all of the players on the team are his own recruits. The Bobby Knight era is still going strong.

you're kidding, right

you're kidding, right

Davis is in the final, and he has to earn respect?

Please tell the board you are kidding.

What about North Carolina? I have to say they are much bigger into college hoops than Kansas. Indiana is by far the biggest at the high school level, but I don't think anyone even comes close to basketball enthusiasm as the state of N.C.

No, i am not kidding at all. If the board wants to slam Bobby Knight, that is fine, but those kids that are in the national championship are still recruits of the legend himself, not Mike Davis. Like I said, we shall see in 4 years if they are in the National Championship, with his own recruits.

have to disagree with you A1 from a coaching stand point.

when a new coach comes into college or pro its a different system and new things added, the new coach has his respect before season or doesnot. if the new coach doesnot have the respect and belive in their new coach they willnot go far and it will be a team of upset players a coach that is mad and players will either quit or be kicked off till the coach gets control and what he wants, been thought it at unc.wilmington.

doesnot matter who recrutied the players the game plan has to be carried out and knight didnot do this with these guys for a few different reason, but to say wait till he has to get his own players doesnot fly in the college coaching ranks, because with out respect, trust, belife and a solid game plan a incomung coach with hold overs will fall flat on his face due to termoil and that didnot happen here, infact played more as a unit as the year went on and that is coaching.

a coach can only do so much in college and pro's your job is to prepair a game plan, work on steps to carry it out and then it is up to your playes.you cannot hit for them throw a strike ,make a basket or throw a td.once on the field or court its up to how well you prepaired your team in practice,a college and pro coach only makes a few calls and changes during a game, its what is done before the game. once into action the players are the ones playing and its the coaching staff that keeps them beliving in themself, with a to,a word of praise to calm them ect,and an adjustment or 2 at the half or in baseball a gamble or 2 on the off side when least expected to gain an edge, but for the most part the players play the game.

so he has done the job that knight didnot, its not about someones players its about how well the game plan was prepaired, instructed and taught, and if all was done right it will be carried out and that is what you saw this year in indiana.

as a coach he earned everything he took the time to instill and work on and it got better each game as a team not as a single player. if you want to be a single player play tennis,a avg team that plays together is much more of a worry for the opp coach then a good team with a great player ,there are ways to shut down a good player hard to shut down a balanced team.

A1 capper...with all due respect.....this is players recruited by bobby and MIKE DAVIS....Jared Jefferies wouldn't be at IU anymore if Davis wasn't there......it is long past due for people to give up on the Knight players and all of the other chit meant to downplay what davis has done. If knight was the coach, everybody knows that IU wouldn't be anywhere but at home. And yes, we will see where IU is in a couple of years....next year we have two of the top 10 players in america signed....and I would imagine that this little "run" in the tourney is opening a few more recruits eyes.
