This is an old post and the guy that posted it did not in fact take the photo. This injury occured years ago. Here is the story - not a telephone pole.
A MAN was impaled through the groin on a tree branch after jumping from a football club balcony in Melbourne's east early today.
A Metropolitan Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the 25-year-old man jumped from the balcony of the Pakenham Football Club about 1am (AEDT) and landed on a tree.
The branch speared in through his groin and up to his abdomen, she said.
"He was very lucky because the branch did not hit any of his major internal organs.
"The Country Fire Authority (CFA) were called to cut the branch and he was taken to the Dandenong Hospital where he underwent surgery to have the branch removed.
"He was conscious throughout the ordeal and I believe he was in a stable condition."
It is not known why the man jumped or how far he fell.
It is not know if the man is till alive today.
