These boxes of cards could be worth 3 million, 4 million, 5 million, heck even 20 million! I mean there could be 20 Gretzky cards in there😮😮 And yes, there is a possibility there could be none in there either, but statistically that is almost impossible.

If the family sells the cards for anything less than 2.5 million, they are idiots.

It's just ink and paper. They don't have any intrinsic value and are therefore worthless. I used to support Hockey but with effect on the environment when you have all the stadia being built, the planes to fly to games, to get people in cars to the games and the virtual slavery of young Canadian men.....I just think its disgusting.

I had 11 mint ones. Sold for them for $1000 so I could buy a pound of weed. 1987

A Gem mint ten sold for 3.75 million US dollars in May of 2021. You could have got lots of weed for 41.25 million dollars.

This is very much like bitcoin. It's not an income producing asset and the value is 100% based on a hope that someone will pay more for it than you did. I think you're starting to get it!

I have a postage stamp from 1856 for sale at an auction with an extremely rare 1858 cancel. There are known to be a few copies of the this cancel, but none with this particular stamp. The stamp and its cancel for sale have been used as a model in a book that discusses local postmarks (book included with this lot). Estimation for this stamps was 800 to 1200€.

Zero bids, three interested without bid.

Just trying waters there since i have quite a lot of special stamps and curiosities to sell.

But as stated above: collectables have no value except what someone is willing to pay, and that's usually like pawn shop buy in price.

If I were him/her I'd open every pack, take the small risk.

Ya got figure there is at least 10 million bucks in that box, I mean maybe even 45 million with the best case scenario. And yes it is possible it could be a huge bust, but odds of that are low.

So yeah I'd gamble.

Oh and the family that sold the box is very shady, I think their story is complete bullshit. Sounds to me there was a family member that collected cards for decades and they waiting for him to die, then they sold his stuff. I find it hard to believe they just stumbled upon the box, they knew exactly what was "down in the basement". Yep, I call bullshit.
