Well this is it guys. This thread has taken a life of its own. It has been a good run and I have enjoyed some success. More importantly I have enjoyed interacting with all of you. I hope I have saved the best for last.
USC Versus Texas
The Pac 10 Defenses are soft and cant tackle we all know that. If you give Pete Caroll a month to prepare for a team he will find a way to stop who they have to stop, or at least control them a little. If you give Mack Brown a month to prepare for anything he will find a way to mess things up. My mind was made up on this game when Texas Am bullied the Longhorns and ran down their throats all day. I think USC went to school on that. USC averages 6.55 a carry and a whopping 260 plus a game on the ground. Bush is the best collegiate player I have seen in the last 20 years, and Leinart is simply clutch. A winner. Smart. I see no way that Texas can take a way any aspect of what USC wants to do. Texas Qb Young can not do enough here. He will try He will press and he will give the ball away, Early and often. I would be shocked to see USC punt tonight. Based on the numbers the trojans should average 5 yards or better every run. Texas will have to over commit to stop the run and they have noone to cover Jarret and Smith. USC will score as much as they want to. They want to be considered the best of all time. If they get up 21 they will not slow it down. They wont have any mercy, no worries of a backdoor cover with Carrol. I don't like Young's makeup in a big spot. Not to over simplify it folks, but it comes down to this.
You got one drive for the title who do you want at Qb?
Leinart or Young?
You got one game to win who do you want coaching
Carroll or Mack?
The best player in the last 10 years also happens to play with the answers to the first two questions.
SC 51-20
USC minus 6.5
1800/1500
I bought the hook because Im up good and it made sense to me in case Im off and Texas shocks me and only loses by 7. The books are thrilled with push and Clem will be booking his trip to warmer weather for February.
