Tread very lightly, I have had 4 striaght winning weeks out of the gate. I for one know I'm not that good!! This may be a good time to fade.

Detroit/ Ravens over 33

I see tremendous value in this total and just played it somewhat hard. The ravens should be able to run the ball down detroits throat which will open up some big play actions for wright. As far as Im concerned the Lions should play much better offense at home and should be able to move the ball through the air. The oddsmakers have kept this number low because the ravens have not scored. Keep in mind the reavens have been trying to get used to wright and played extremely close to the vest against the hapless Jets. Fassel is a qb guru and used to do some of his best work with backup and Journeymen qbs. ( Boomer) Kent Graham to name a few. Look for the Ravens to be much better on offense this week. Both teams are prone to the pick and have active secondarys which gamble and either will get burnt for the big play or take one to the house. With the total this low a freak td like that is all you need.

I kinda agree with you on this one (although i have yet to really look over week #5) because I can see Joey Harrington struggling against that Ravens secondary and possibly having one run back for a quick score...plus the Ravens should be able to exploit a Lions Secondary at the Corner position opposite Dre Bly the way the Bucs did yesterday...their other starting CB Fernando Bryant is out for the season.

adding tonights game to my week 5 thread..

Lately I have been reading a lot of data about if you are on a fav at 7 and the line goes to 7.5 don't buy the hook just play the team. The theory is that it takes alot of steam to move the line off the 7, and more often than not the fav covers in this spot. Tonight we have the opposite the line moved off the 7 and a hook. I say buying the hook here with a team that 4 weeks a go was being mentioned for the superbowl is a steal. The Packers were supposed to be bad and they are bad. The Panthers are expected to win or 11 or 12 are home and need the game. The Public is on Farve because he is farve and because the Panthers have played bad. Usually in a spot like this the teams revert back to how they should play.

Im not expecting to the Panthers to be tested here but just in case Farve throws a late garbage td to ruin every squares teaser or blow up the paarlays and totals I'm insulated.

For bookkeeping records this will go into week 5..
Why because I already made the bank deposit and wasnot expecting to play until vegas or costa rica decided to be so nice to me.

Lions got robbed yesterday, league owes them a little. JET defense is a lot better than they get credit for.
Ravens will start scoring, that running back is no joke !

I'm not trying to be smart about it, Clem...But why?

They are dead last in rushing so far @ 2.6 ypc, and they've already played Indi and Tenn who have pretty ordinary run D.
Detroit defense is (IMHO) very under-rated. Bryant is out, but Goodman is a decent replacement, and they've allowed just 5.7 y/pass.
I personally see a 13-10 kinda game...but good luck. :mj14:

Redskins do have a great defense but so does Denver.

That combined with a horrific offense, I don't know if the Skins will even score this week.

9 points aginst the Bears.

14 points against Cowgirls on 2 long passes at the end of the game.

20 points against a Seahawk defense that is one of the worst in the league.

I see this being like a 20-6 type game in favor of Denver.

Clem was gonna take Miami, but read you, Thunder and Senor Cappers threads on Buffalo and have to admit that Holcomb seems like he can run this offense...he made big plays in Cle with nobody on his offense, how he has Moulds, Evans and McGahee around him, and I think that can cause some problems for that aged Miami D...playing Buff big with you
