They still have a crappy coach so they should be knocked down a couple of notches for that. :142smilie

Maybe so, but given the coaching display your boy les put on during the championship game I'm not sure I would be talking about another teams coach:facepalm:

We all have a bad day now and then. Last season miles put on one of the most tremendous coaching displays in my lifetime. Richt is solid, but not upper echelon. Jmo.

Les sure seemed to be outclassed by Sabear in the title game, but Bama was the better team. I was confident this LSU team would rebound from that setback and compete for a title again. With a smooth offseason, it seemed the core of the team had matured. The setback with Mathieu makes me wonder hoe this team will react. Many of these guys went through this type of adversity last season. It was by all accounts an emotional grind. How much more can these kids withstand.

I now predict Lsu will finish behind arky in the west . Let's see how it goes....

it's not one game - it's body of work. They have been picked to finish high multiple years and have had the talent to do so but their coach is the issue. I am not a Les fan but I'd take him any day of the week over Richt. Richt needs to move on and this is like the 5th year in a row saying it.

On another note, how is it going to be watching Mettenberger playing for LSU? I can't think of a better way to rub salt in the wound for all of my Georgia buddies.

Oh sorry - missed this point. How was Miles vs Richt head to head last year. I can't remember.

Lets keep in mind that you were the one that brought this coach thing up.

Since you brought the above points up lets take a look at them.

UGA has been preseason top ten picks 3 seasons in his tenure. Preseason rank is first and end of year poll last "02" 8-3 "04" 3-7 "08" 1-13 Hardly as you characterize.

Career record: Miles 103-39 Richt 106-38

Bowl record Milles 5-2 Richt 7-4

BCS Bowl record: Miles 2-1 Richt 3-0

Head-to-head 2-2

Miles has a championship and that puts him ahead on paper period and I have no problem stating that. Having said that UGA beats that same Ohio St team if they get in over LSU that year. But they didnt and les is a little ahead. I have had my issues with richt, and do not care for some of the things he did/does, but to make out like he is some guy off the scrap heap is funny. What is even more funny if trying to so with facts and numbers that actually run opposite to your argument:facepalm:

Funny how quickly some forget "time management" les!

As to mett, I wish him well. For that matter I wish LSU well. He stuck his hand up a girls skirt essentiually sexually assalting her, lied about it and had to go:shrug: From what I have seen he seems contrite, so good luck to him.

Most SEC teams have good coaches compared to all other
conferences...Think LSU and GA coaches are very close....And Miles was COMPLETELY outcoached by Saban...Matter of fact...EMBRASSED...jmo

actually no sooner than week 5 with all the cupcakes these supposed powers play in the begining of the schedule..

problem is the late poll doesn't generate enough bullshit conversation about absolutely nothing ..so the talking heads have nothing to bait the chowderheads who actually take these stupid polls seriously..

problem solved real soon though..

probably should wait another week or 3 for the first true poll...

surely didn't have it right thru week 7 :mj07:

Texas Tech stuns No. 5 West Virginia 49-14

the supposed 5th best team in the country get their ass handed to them by 35 friggin' points.

Experts ...really have to stop the water boys who vote in proxy for the coaches to watch more games..

maybe all these voters in all these bogus polls should watch some other teams play..

How in the hell did I not see this. I wasted 10 minutes putting something just like this together and posted. I think we both agree that polls should not come out till week 3ish.

Hope all is well OS
