As I said several weeks ago I was going to pass on the next 2-3 Saturdays as there are too many games to cap to do a good job-at least the way I do it-just need a break--might have a few next Saturday--gl

I hear ya Hawk...I know I have spent many Saturdays this time of year working on games putting in 15 hour+ days and they dont always pan out...definitely the toughest day to cap in all of sports...gl and always look forward to your thoughts

By far best day of the week

By far best day of the week

I undertstand the break... But I feel like a day like this when there are this many games and this man 5,10, `15 minute lines we are going to get bad lines.... Best value IMHO. We get lined games that we dont normally get which gives us an edge.....

Oregon State womens upsetting UCLA last night and now will look to play UCLA when they go in to play @ Oregon. Going to be epic battle. UCLA, IMHO, got caught peeking ahead last night vs a talented talented Beaver team.

Ready for some ladies....

Lets get them Hawk...

WE had a bottle of 2004 Ornellaia for dinner on Valentines... I made Osso Bucco with Risotto Milanese and enjoyed the beautiful Super Tuscan from Ornellaia.... OMG... special juice man. But I am very much biased Toward Italy.

I drank from Pinot Noirs from Jewell over the holidays.... small vintages less than 250 cases... but really nice velvety juice. hmmmm... Now I am to open a bottle of something... dammit Hawk... I was not going to drink today.

LOL

Yeppers

I was able to pick up a few cases of the Pinot Noirs and Sauv Blancs from Joseph Jewell... Good juice.

Wife opened a bottle of Maldonado Pinot Noir from Parr VIneyard in Sonoma.... Maldonado more known for their Chards make some decent PN. I dont drink much American juice but will drink what the wifey wants.

Yeah Hawk, I will bust out a dinner every once in a while. Life is cry so I have not had the ability to cook for her as much as she deserves.

Lovely stuff

Have not tried any Parr-will give it a try. So what are your favorites from Italy--any good Classico Chiantis?
"Life is a cry"?? Hope all is well.

Italy

Italy

Italy is tricky because I know so many of the winemakers from my life in Restaurants....

My favorite of the the Chiantis is made by Fontodi- They make a Beautiful Super Tuscan Flaccianello (100% Sangiovese), then a high end Chianti - Vigne Del Sorbo and then a standard Chianti Classico... I know the winemaker very well and this juice drinks amazingly.

Beyond that- Our top selling Chiantis are the Ruffino Gold label and the Querceto...

Cecchi makes one that is good but I prefer their Morellino....

In the end I drink Super Tuscans but prefer Brunello di Montalcinos (Mainly from Donna Olga (She is a dear friend), Valdicava (Friends with the importer and proprietor), and Castello Romitorio...

The good news is that Italians are NO WHERE near as expensive as the French and they are no where near as CHIC as the California Cabs have become... so I can get great juice for fair prices.... If I feel like I need to invest then I move to Ports (My wife's favorites) and Sauternes... or I buy Masseto.

Sorry to be long winded.... We like adult grapes....

The Maldonado... First instinct is that I did not let it open enough- I was concerned the fruit had start to crash out... but as it warmed the fruit came back and the structure is nice. Wine is only 7 years old so just a baby. But drinking nicely.

I will try a few of those. So are you still in the restaurant business? Been trying Oregon wines lately after taking a trip up there in August. Good whole cluster PN's from Carlton area/ Willamette Valley.

We are not....

We are in hospitality in a way.... My wife starting a small batch home made dog treat business that is AWESOME and tons of fun. But I started a mechanical company and started working on bank foreclosures. REstaurant life ate me up.... Thats an e-mail conversation though.

NOt sure if it is a violation and if it is I apologize to all.
