been watching nba my whole life, but have never seen a better individual effort in the final minute of a game than the one mcgrady just put on display.

he can certainly work on defense and other areas of his game, but when he gets hot, im not sure theres been a better player since jordan. he had a couple stretches like that in orlando where you just had no chance to stop him

I am a Spurs fanatic but did not have a ride one them with the exception of a cheap ML 8 team parlay which I would have lost anyway thanks to Ucon. However, I would have sacreficed it anyway to watch teh Tracy show in the last minute. It wos reminenscent of Reggie scoring 8 in 23 seconds against the Knicks about six years ago. One of those moments that will be seared into my memory forever.

GREAT MOMENT IN NBA HISTORY.

Sorry NoClue, I had not seen your post. Great minds...

great performance last night, but in my opinion McGrady isn't that great. he has been on 3 teams now and he can't do nothing with them. has he even gotten out of the first round of the playoffs??

just to clarify:

didnt mean to imply that mcgrady is all-everything or even a good leader.

the comparison to jordan was simply in his ability to take over a game when he gets hot. when jordan got hot, it didnt matter what you threw at him defensively, you had no chance to stop him. mcgrady has gotten into a couple of those zones over the course of his career and -- speaking strictly about those nights -- its like watching MJ. there are many better overall players in the nba today. but i dont think anyone compares to tmac on those rare nights where he catches fire.

Agree with you G-Man. He can be awesome and I can only think of a couple playing today that may be better. He can dominate a game but unfortunately he cannot dominate a season and Yao is not yet big enough or tough enough to provide the balance nor do the Rockets have a strong enough supporting cast that EVERY great player MUST have to get to the very top.

I would have been fun to watch him with a healthy Hill with even a decent big man.
