As Arthur gets healthier, Speights time was going down. Selby never played and Ellington, the best perimeter shooter was inconsistent. Six treys one night, then none for the next two games. I don't think he ever got comfortable with Hollin's quick hook for role players and often passed on open shots in fear of missing and going back to the bench. The positive is the Grizzlies are beneath the luxury tax and can keep the core. The bad news as you state is the thin bench and injuries to contributors such as Poindexter is significant to this team. The trade exception, $6.4 MM, could be a help at strengthening the bench at the deadline. At least I hope so.

Personally, I like Jon Leuer as a good prospect down the line, 2-3 years time, but as far as helping the Grizz this year and in the playoffs, I don't see it.

OK, who's gonna go today?

But don't forget - the best NBA trade this season already happened with Harden going to the Rockets. Not sure we would have ever seen just how good this guy is with him playing behind Durant and Westbrook. He is unbelievable - and if you watched any of that game last night, you could see him at his best. 14-19 from the field, including 7-8 from 3s, putting in 46 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists - that is SOLID. And, super fun to watch!

I still think the Thunder screwed that trade up. I thought they should use Harden to get someone but I think they should have gotten a big for him. They really need a big that can play the pick n roll better, Perkins is horrible against it. They also need a big that has some offense in his game. Last year Miami was able to go small against the Thunder because the Thunder couldn't make them pay for it. I would make a run for KG if I was them. They have a 1st rounder they won't be able to use and they also have some pieces that are pretty good that they could get rid of, mainly Lamb. A 1st rounder, Lamb and one of their bigs to make salaries work and you have a team with KG that would be in a lot better shape.

Can't disagree with that - they have a lot of shooters, but not much of an inside presence. Their guards do drive a lot, which helps them in the paint, but they do not have a big that dominates inside, especially offensively. Martin just added to their outside game - really, they just switched out similar pieces, but at this point I think that they probably downgraded (based on Harden's performance this season). I realize it was all money based, and they wanted to get something before having to max out Harden, but I think he certainly deserves that deal.

And to think the Thunder could have had Tyson Chandler a few years back if he wouldn't have failed his physical. Chandler on that team would be scary. Mainly because he plays great defense against the pick n roll. He also plays the pick n roll on offense fairly well.

Yes, that would have been super-scary. Chandler is one of my favorite players - one of the hardest workers in the NBA.

Other minor NBA trades: Bobcats send Hakim Warrick to Magic for Josh McRoberts, Hawks deal Anthony Morrow to Mavs for Dahntay Jones.

No Josh Smith deal, wow - super surprised at that.

Not me. Who would give up anything to get that guy. He's Amare Stoudamire. All stats but nothing that it really takes to win. At least Amare stays within 15ft of the basket. Josh doesn't like hard up D on him so when it happens he'll bounce to the 3point line and fire away from there. Add to it that he's wanting big money. I wouldn't pay him 10 a year let alone the max money he's wanting.

I don't understand this trade at all unless you're Orlando. I haven't gotten the chance to see Lamb play but the Bucks seem to be giving up on him very early. Giving up a rookie for a guy that probably won't re-sign with you. I doubt they'll be able to keep Jennings this summer so what the hell will they have.

Bad franchise!
