Among the key findings of The Times? investigation:
? Trump paid no federal income taxes in 11 of 18 years that The Times examined. In 2017, after he became president, his tax bill was only $750.
? He has reduced his tax bill with questionable measures, including a $72.9 million tax refund that is the subject of an audit by the Internal Revenue Service.
? Many of his signature businesses, including his golf courses, report losing large amounts of money ? losses that have helped him to lower his taxes.
? The financial pressure on him is increasing as hundreds of millions of dollars in loans he personally guaranteed are soon coming due.
? Even while declaring losses, he has managed to enjoy a lavish lifestyle by taking tax deductions on what most people would consider personal expenses, including residences, aircraft and $70,000 in hairstyling for television.
? Ivanka Trump, while working as an employee of the Trump Organization, appears to have received ?consulting fees? that also helped reduce the family?s tax bill.
? As president, he has received more money from foreign sources and U.S. interest groups than previously known. The records do not reveal any previously unreported connections to Russia.

...just how do the Trump faithful feel about Trumps tax returns?

My guess.....moon1

You'd think if "tax returns" are so important to see someone would present a bill that would make it happen going forward....Has any Dem. presented a bill yet--no--They just keep bitching about it...While they are at it, how about letting us all see the House & Senates returns going forward too, that would be fun....

Sorta like who should select Supreme Court Judges in an Election year, instead of bitching about---it do something about it so it's on the books, oh wait it already is.

Since everybody until Trump was willing to provide, it wasn't necessary. Most people don't have anything to hide. Most voters don't know who their congressman is, but they know who the President is. Now that we've seen that indecent human beings can rise to the top office, expect legislation once the cancer is removed.

The Constitution grants the responsibility of nomination to the President and confirmation to the Senate. The Republican Senate didn't do their job in 2016, but that's just fine and dandy. When people don't do their job, you have to make changes. Expect changes.

Gotta tell ya, I'm just giddy to find out who you end up voting for!

A New York judge Friday increased pressure on former President Donald Trump?s family business and several associates, ordering them to give state investigators documents in a civil inquiry into whether the company misstated assets to get bank loans and tax benefits.
It was the second blow that the judge, Arthur F. Engoron of state Supreme Court in Manhattan, had dealt to Trump?s company in recent weeks.
In December, he ordered the company, the Trump Organization, to produce records that its lawyers had tried to shield, including some related to a Westchester County, New York, property that is among those being scrutinized by the New York state attorney general, Letitia James.
Sign up for The Morning newsletter from the New York Times
On Friday, Engoron went further, saying that even more documents, as well as communications with a law firm hired by the Trump Organization, had to be handed over to James? office. In doing so, he rejected the lawyers? claim that the documents at issue were covered by attorney-client privilege.
The ruling was a fresh reminder that Trump ? who left office about a week ago under the cloud of impeachment and is headed for a Senate trial on a charge of ?incitement of insurrection? after his supporters stormed the Capitol in a violent rampage ? faces significant legal jeopardy as a private citizen.
The most serious threats confronting the former president include a criminal investigation by the Manhattan district attorney and the civil inquiry by the attorney general into possible fraud in Trump?s business dealings before he was elected.
James? investigation began in March 2019, after Michael Cohen, the former president?s onetime lawyer, told Congress that Trump had inflated his assets in financial statements to secure bank loans and understated them elsewhere to reduce his tax bill.

A journalist thinks they will target the chief accountant who they would then expect to rat on Donald and the Trump family.

O'Brien went on to explain why he thinks it's likely Trump's chief accountant, Allen Weisselberg, is likely to flip on Trump. "The thing to really focus in on here is that it's not just the tax records that Cy Vance has now," O'Brien said. "He probably has reams and reams of the accountant's work product. This is a criminal case, they're going to need to prove criminal intent on the part of Trump, his three eldest children, Allen Weisselberg, and anyone else in the Trump Organization who's fallen under the parameters of this investigation. And if there are email and notes and other records of communication about what they intended to do when they inflated the value of buildings so they could get loans against them and then turned around and deflated the value of the buildings so they could pay lower taxes on them, and there's a communication around that that predates any of these tax entries, that is gold for a prosecutor."
A few hours earlier, O'Brien told MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace that the particular eight years of documents Vance's team has "is important, because it predates Trump's ascent into the White House, and I think helps build the narrative around the money trail and Trump's motivations for his destructive and obscene dance with people like Vladimir Putin. It's a shame they couldn't go back further ? think this is one of the tragic misses of Robert Mueller's investigation, he could have gone back further, I think, than Cy Vance is able to into Trump's finances."
O'Brien also underscored that the investigation implicates at least Eric Trump and Ivanka Trump, and "it also targets people inside the Trump Organization who might flip on Trump if they're exposed to criminal liability," but "the brass ring in all of this is that if Trump has a criminal conviction, he cannot run for president again, and that's looming over this entire thing as well."

Prosecutors with Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr.'s office have subpoenaed a Manhattan private school to see whether the Trump Organization paid the tuition of longtime financial chief Allen Weisselberg's grandchildren, The Wall Street Journal reports, citing people familiar with the matter. If former President Donald Trump's business paid the tuition, it would be considered taxable income, tax experts told the Journal, and if that income wasn't reported to tax authorities, it could constitute tax fraud.
Vance's office is trying to gain the cooperation of Weisselberg as it tries to untangle the Trump Organization's byzantine financial records, according to multiple reports. Jennifer Weisselberg, who was married to Weisselberg's son Barry until their divorce, told the Journal that Trump or Allen Weisselberg signed checks for more than $500,000 to Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School to cover tuition for her and Barry's two children from 2012 to 2019. The couple understood the tuition payments to be part of Barry's Trump Organization compensation package, she added.
Divorce documents filed by Barry Weisselberg said his parents paid the children's tuition to the Upper West Side private school because he couldn't afford to, and the Weisselberg family characterized the payments as a gift, the Journal reports. If the grandparents paid the tuition directly to the school as a gift, that would not be taxed, but if the Trump Organization paid the tuition, the Weisselbergs could be in legal jeopardy.
"Without an insider it can be difficult to put all the pieces in a white-collar case together," Daniel Horwitz, a white-collar defense lawyer at McLaughlin & Stern, told the Journal. "The way that cooperation is typically obtained is by demonstrating to the potential cooperator that they have no better option."

If they keep the pressure up on Allen, he'll start talking and the fat fuck is going to be in deep shit.
