Went out to watch the fights then got too drunk to figure out how to turn on a computer at 1am.

I was sober enough to know that Baroni ran out of gas with 3:36 to go in the 1st FREAKIN ROUND.

As for the Tito fight, when are they going to do something about these judges???
They need to force all 3 guys to do a round by round recount wheather it is in a schooling session or reviews of some sort after fights.
I figured it was gonna be 29-28 split decision win for Griffin. I though 1st was very close. 2nd and 3rd were no brainer rounds.
The 30-27 Griffin judge should be forced to explain.

Oh and Bucs, I hope you learned the Phil Baroni lesson that we tried to teach Weinerdog vs Riggs.
He may be game and have heart, but once that Low Fuel light comes on then his punches have about as much power as a 8 year old girl.

I had Tito and will admit that I thought Forrest may have deserved the nod a bit more than Tito would BUT my question is why/when the fuck does Tito think he's a stand-up guy? His past few fights he's more-or-less scrapped his patented GNP to try to box. His movement is very robotic and when he gets tagged he's very statue-esque. You woulda thought he'd say "this boxing shit isn't my cup of tea" and started using his bread and butter (which is very capable of winning fights). He's got good takedowns, he can keep guys down with his positioning and his elbows from the top cut and hurt you. WHY THE FUCK DON'T YOU KEEP DOING THAT?!?!?

Oh well, Tito was the kicker in a parlay of mine starting back since Strikeforce....

Tito wins round 1 on two judges scorecards and losses round 2 on two judges scorecards.

I'm baffled. Whe I read Dana's write-up on MMAJunkie, I was even more confused. I thought it was clear cut that Tito won Rd 2, Griffin won Rd 3. I thought Rd1 was subjective. I didn't think Rd2 + 3 were even close???

I have a solution. Scrap the whole fucking round by round scoring. It allows way to many loop holes and it allows fighters to beat the system. I thought Tito basically beat the system last night. Win round 1,2 and dont get 10-8 in round 3...

Anyways, just judge the fight as a hole. Who cares about the score? You got 3 judges, they pick who they thought won the fight. IMO, the only real reason to have rounds is just so there's a structure.

that`s pride`s scoring system....i agree,it might be better.....you could have a guy lay on another fighter for 10 minutes and do little damage......while his opponent comes back late and brutalizes the guy for the last 5 minutes cutting him up and inflicting damage....

mma is different than boxing in that it`s scoring is so much more diverse...striking(hands,feet and knees),grappling and submission attempts...

round by round makes sense for boxing...with more limited staright forward ways of scoring points....

in mma,i think you have to look at the whole....rx r doesn`t get it,imo...

but then again, how do you score the fouls?.....personally,i think we need more warnings for fouls unless they`re absolutely and obviously flagrant.....

as far as grabbing the fence, one warning and then you go on your back and restarted on the second offense...

we`ve seen fights turn(marquardt vs whatsisname) on point deductions...that shouldn`t happen unless it physically hampers or incapacitates a fighter...

Just ask Hatsu Hioki what he thinks of judging in Japan.

Judging the whole fight or judging round by round makes no difference, the problem lies with MMA judges not knowing how to judge.

Or......JUST FINISH THE FIGHT.......and don't worry about the judges.

I believe that was Thales Leites.

And illegal blows can be purse deductions.

the problem is that there is gambling on these fights and when there is gambling and big money involved there will always be corruption. Again the decision goes to the guy that wasn't bet. Nobody was betting Forrest after his last fight, and all this talk about what great shape Tito was in, was just to remind people to bet him. All the money bet on Shogun the bad decision goes to Machida. Money on Vera. The bad decision goes to Coulture. All the money on Tito. The close decision goes to Forrest. Money on Hinoki. decision goes to the opponent. I wrote a post on another site telling people Carson Palmer would stiff like he forgot how to play the game today. Sure enuf he stiffed it big time and the books made out like bandits. Same ole shit with Carson when he is bet heavy. taken bad sack, passing for four yards on third when he needs six, missing open guys. Same ole same ole and that fuker knows what he is doing.

I don't understand how all these people are getting upset about the Tito loss. He didn't win the fight. I thought it was pretty obvious.

I don't think it's near the uproar that Shogun got, or even Vera. In MMA, you don't hoover over a bad decision forever, you kind of get over it once the next PPV/Card comes up.

I can live with subjectively selecting Forrest as the winner. However, the judge who went 30-27 should get his licence revoked.

Well I am not so sure about that now.
I thought the judges that gave Griffin the win was gonna be because they gave Griffin round 1, but two judges saw round 2 for Griffin.
The 30-27 was not as bad since another judge gave round 2 to Griffin as well.

MY QUESTION IS THIS:
How do you give Tito round 1 but not round 2 as one judge did???? He clearly had a better 2nd than 1st.

I thought the only round in question was Round 1. The last 2 rounds were quite clear IMO. None of the 3 judges got that round right LMFAO

Lil Nog -130 2 units

I really like Nog here, I think he has more ways to win it than Cane does.

I don't want to risk too much though, the 5 units I lose on Shogun is still hurting. The minute this fight is over I'm putting in a very large play on KenFlo. I'm really suprised the line with he and the ape man is so low. I don't see any chance of Florian losing to Guida, of course the UFC judges could want to bend me over one more time before the year is over.

Well if I wouldn't have lost so much on Shogun I would have been happier because I would have won more on lil Nog but I'll take the easy 2.

I've already unloaded on KenFlo so I'll post that when the thread is up and ready.

Congrats to all of the winners on this card, sorry I haven't been in to comment or argue with anyone. Too much turmoil going on with the wife right now so things haven't been normal for me.
