This happens a lot in boxing
one guy gets a rematch with a guy who whooped his ass years ago
Often, the idea is that one guy has made "dramatic" improvements (Alves), while the other has stagnated or dropped off (Fitch)
A few years back, Cintron was supposed to have a great chance to avenge his loss to Margarito. In the first bout, Margarito embarrassed him and knocked him out. Rematch? Margarito embarrassed him and knocked him out.
I know Alves has looked better, but I give Fitch a very good chance to repeat here. They both were not close to beating GSP. You can't judge how they faired against him. You really have to look closer, in my opinion, at the first Alves-Fitch match. A lot of times, one guy just has the other guys number.
