Best card on paper in a long time so I hope it turns out well. Not the best betting card IMO unless you're a big dog player.

I liked Franklin but the line has moved too far out of my comfort zone. I haven't looked at the other fights but may take a flyer on Belfort. His fight vs Franklin pushed me over to the other side with my opinion of him.

If he has been training with Randy and Randy is in his corner i will be aboard the Belfort train. I heard he was at xtreme Colture but don't know much else. U know anything Lay? Anyone else?

I took Kid at -145. I think he is a class above Johnson in MMA experience, wrestling pedigree and standup. Plus he'll be bigger than someone for the first time.

Good luck with your plays everyone

Took the same play. The things that worry me though are

1) Speed of Johnson. This kid is lighting fast which will be good in the scrambles and take down department

2) How will Kid perform in the US. He has had only two fights outside of Japan - 2001 and 2003 both in Hawaii

3) Is he on the downside of a great career?

There is no doubt Kid has faced and beaten the better fighters - Sudo, Uno, Fernandes, Curran, Yahya. His wrestling is great (was going for the 2008 Olympics) and he has KO power in both hands. He lost to Warren but that was after a big injury and to Kanehara which was very close, some might say a robbery

If Franklin wins, I say put him against the winner of Jones/Bader for the #1 contender fight.

Ouch, I like Franklin but Jones would destroy him and Bader would more than likely put him on his back for the full three.

Franklin needs for Belfort to beat Silva so he can move back down and take another shot at the belt. As long as Silva is there he's a man with no real chance.

This could be a good underdog card. I can see some of the below getting the win

Belfort - If he can avoid the kicks and connect with Silva this could be interesting. Silva has never faced anyone with the kind of punching ability of Belfort

Bader - Ok on paper he seems overmatched but one has to assume he can take Jones down at some pint. He only has to do that for two rounds and keep him there to win. Not saying I would play this one but the potential for an upset is there. Did that car wreck effect Jones in any way?

Griffin - Bigger fighter though he may have problems with the angles. Wins over Jackson and Rua were two underdog wins. This is a close fight

Banuelos - Sherdog on their write up seem to think he can take Torres down and win. I don't think so but MT has a lot of miles on the clock

Johnson - I took Kid but the potential for an upset is real here. Speed kills. Will it kill Kid's UFC career.

Omigawa - Mendes is a beast but so is Omigawa. Very hard to take down, strong and good with submissions. A different fighter to the one who was in the UFC before

Rocha - Undefeated but may have problems with the strength of Ellenberger. But if Ellenberger over extends on the ground he could get submitted

Note with Omigawa.

I don't think the Japanese judges will be judging the fight. So for once Omigawa might actually have to win legitimately.

Just sayin'

Japanese judges are terrible but it is not like the American judges have fared much better:box2:

True.......but maybe the worst decision in the history of MMA was the Hatsu Hioki/Michihiro Omigawa decision.
