Am i reading this right? I love Alves in this fight. I love this kid Story and he is a rough son of a gun but he hangs that chin out there just waiting to get lit up. This reminds me of the last Gullard fight where the rough tough white guy got beat by athleticism and talent. Here is the line i got. Now i don't see this line anywhere. Is this line somehow related to the round?

Sat 5/28, 7:30PM (EST)
3059. Rick Story +105 O 3 +125
3060. Thiago Alves -135 U 3 -141
Alves is about 2 to 1 everywhere. Am i reading this as he is -135 here or does that factor into the round?

dont see how story can compete with athletcism of alves

but thiago fukface alves has to make weight first

i grabbed a little story at +175....another wrestler....big for the weight(was an all-american naia wrestler at 184 pounds...not sure that alves can bully this guy)....lefty stance.....

and if you sleep on him,he has the skill to submit you....

he`s on a bit of a roll..his career as a wrewstler had the same trajectory...he got better as he gained more experience......

if he can take alves down in the first,he can maybe discourage him....alves isn`t the mentally toughest guy i`ve ever seen...

alves is 18-7...not the unbeatable monster that many think he is...

i`m thinking that maybe i could have waited for better odds...

Frank Mir beat Roy Nelson $1.87 (-115) *2 Joe Rogans

i have a feeling that Mir is gonna look bad in this fight. Still might win but it is tough to look good against Nelson. Last time i saw Nelson it looks like he actually did a handful of situps.

Ill take Frank Mir. I don't think Nelson can get Mir down, and even if he does, I don't think Mir is in danger.

Nelsons best chance is on the feet, where I still think he's at a disadvantage.

I remember years ago, when Mir was champ, Roy handed him his arse at NAGA. I think he beat Mir 10 points to 2 in that match.

Yes, I think this is a huge factor. I remember when Linland/Jacare was announced I took Jacare BIG because of their sub-grappling match. Loving Roy at + odds here

I see lots of people dissing this card.(mma community) I don't think it is bad at all. If Alves comes in on weight i think he knocks Story's head off. The same Alves who fought Howard needs to show up. I already have wagers out on Alves and if i hear he is having trouble making weight im out.

I'm going to be on Nelson but just not sure how much. I like him both standing and if he can get Mir on the ground I don't see Mir getting him off. I also don't see any way in hell Mir subs him.

There is more to his twitter then the one message genius. For a guy like me who can read between the lines i love the fact they can go on twitter and vent. Now a clown like u who gets conned daily, twitter shouldn't be for u. The hilarious thing is that i knew u would post what u did. JUst surprised it took u so long.

here is some more detail on thiago's weight issues

Adam Wagner (MMAmania.com): You're one of the largest welterweights in the division, and weight cutting has been a factor for you in the past. What adjustments have you made to your diet to ensure you make 170?

Thiago Alves: I've been using the Dolce Diet since August of last year, and I feel amazing. My energy levels are through the roof, and I'm just cruising through training camp. Before it was a struggle every fight.

Before, like for the GSP fight and the Jon Fitch fight, I used to pass out. I'd start passing out on Wednesday -- Friday are the weigh-ins, you know -- and I had to just drag myself as much I can just to make weight.

Now I'm actually healthy. I'm eating before. I ate four times on Thursday before the weigh-ins.

I was talking to Dolce, I wanted to be competing and at the top of the weight class, (but wasn't able to at the top of) my ability because I was so debilitated before the fight, yet I still (was able to) do what I do. Now that I'm a healthy Thiago Alves, I just can't wait to see the results. I can't wait to step in there and see what's going to happen.

Adam Wagner ( MMAmania.com): Is it true that Dana really gave you one more chance before he wants you to move up to middleweight?

Thiago Alves: Yeah, I never tried to move up. That was their decision. That was Dana White, he was very upset, saying, "Thiago, you cannot miss weight at this level. You gotta make weight, you're one of the top welterweights in this company, you gotta set an example. If you can't do it, you're gonna have to move up a weight class."

So I asked him, "Just give me one more chance. I've been through a lot, brain procedure, you know that." I'm not giving an excuse, I'm not the kind of guy who gives an excuse, but considering the circumstances that I've been through - nine-month layoff (before the GSP fight); then a 13-month layoff (before the Fitch fight); brain procedure; knee injury before the fight; Jon Fitch that's been fighting back-to-back all the time -- that hurt me a little bit.

I got really heavy during those periods and it was hard for me to make weight. But I think everything happens for a reason. I had to go through those things to appreciate everything in my life, to work even harder than what I already do, and make adjustments to get where I need to get.

lots of guys seem to be on the Dolce Diet . I think it has something to do with heavy amounts of water being consumed. Alves looked terrific his last fight and has been praising this diet for a while now.
