I looked at 10 different sites.....

6 MMA sites give fight to Henderson
4 MMA sites give the fight to Edgar

It was close......

I'd score the fight a draw actually.

Bottom line....close fight.

The thing that bothers me the most last night is how these takedowns meant nothing and for some reason guys are now brainwashed into thinking after takedowns u have to do something with them. When has this now changed in the judges eyes? I can count the bets i have lost from a late takedown deciding a round. Take the Akiyama fight for example. I had Aki winning at least one round definitely. I had Shields winning the fight tho. 30-27 across the board are u kidding me. That just showed u that for last nights card the take downs meant nothing. Where is the consistency in this sport? U can't be judging it one way one night and another way another night. The last fight was close but man did Henderson really do enuf to take that title away? A half his size Edgar to me looked like the stronger fighter all night long. So let me get this straight. Now in MMA when u take a guy down u have to do damage to a guy for it to count. The slam Rampage did to Badar counts for nothing because he didn't do anything with it even tho he almost broke Badar's neck? These takedowns were not just little takedowns Frankie made. Some of these were pretty good slams. I didn't bet the last fight so i had no dog in the hunt bt i will say it again. Frankie had the title so Henderson needs to go win it. diid he really do enuf? I think one up kick won him at least three rounds in some guys eyes. A very close fight but common fellas. Henderson took the win against Miller and Guida. this fight i just don't see it.

Did I really see someone say they thought Frankie Edgar won? LMFAO. Why? Because he got a few take downs and did NOTHING with them? He landed more punches? That did...NOTHING. This fight wasn't even close. If you go by audio and just #'s, a lot of fighters would win fights that weren't all that close. If Edgar won this fight, then Shields won the fight against GSP....come on, gtfo of here!

Oh, and rag on my picks all ya want, if it weren't for the Okami shocker comeback, it's 4-3. Oh, and I picked them straight up. I wouldn't know the odds if you asked me. I haven't bet on MMA or Sports for a few months. Haven't had the itch. When I bet, I post, with the odds.

Good day, keep up the banter. I can take it :)

ps- Kickserv, hope you finally got back on the winning track. You've been losing for awhile!

Bucks are u another guy who watched Edgar win 4:48 of round two and then the one up kick won Henderson the round? So now u also have bought the "if u take a guy down u have to do something with it" garbage? When did the judging change that now a takedown doesn't count for anything unless u do something with it? U got taken down for goodness sakes. Ur on ur ass.

He got a takedown, soooo whattt? The guy on his ass doesn't score anything for getting off his ass? This isn't wrestling where you get 2 points for a takedown sponge bob.

How come those counted for years? Did the Judging change over night? When did the Pride rules take over? Believe me i have said for years that these guys that try for the take down for 4 minutes and finally get it but don't do anything shouldn't get credit but they did. Last night was different for some reason  and these were all solid takedowns

MMA judging is inconsistent no matter what country you're in now a days. I think you're fighting the wrong fight here though. I don't think the fight was even close. I had it 49-46.

I believe the visual damage to Edgar's face is what swayed the judges. I thought he was winning the fight, but knew it was going to get the decision with his eye and nose that messed up. The upkick at the end of round two seems to have been the most important strike of the fight bc Edgar was clearly winning that round and that big kick wiped it out and gave the round to Henderson.

Great fight. I can't complain about the decision bc the damage to Edgar's face is pretty telling.

Calm the fuck down Sponge - You make it sound like the biggest judging robbery in the history of the sport. You sound crazy as shit right now and you are one of the guys that usually has a pretty solid grasp on MMA.

If the Judges had given Frankie round 2 it wouldn't have bothered me, but you can't throw away the fact that Henderson crumbled Edgar with that up kick and jumped on his stunned ass. That's the last thing the Judges saw. In my mind, that is exactly like a late take down stealing a round.

Hell I agree with you in the Akiyama fight, but his take downs were a whole helluva lot more impressive than Edgar's. But Akiyama was out struck 2.5 to 1. Strikes count in this sport too.

Henderson out struck Edgar. Had the only submission attempts. Closed an eye, which was starting to swell in the 1st round, and broke a nose. And the only time I thought Ben was in trouble was late in the 5th round, a round that I thought Edgar clearly won.

"Taking the Belt." Fuck - I actually agree on the principle that if a round is close, it should go to the champ. But in my mind that is like a round 1 where all they do is jab at each other, that's when the Champ gets the benefit of the doubt.

Edgar's face was starting to swell in the 1st round.
His nose was pouring blood at the end of the 2nd.
His eye was nearly shut in the 3rd.
Whether it was 100 strikes or 2, that is definitely going to influence a judge sitting ring side that has to score each round.

You've said some crazy shit in this thread and I think you are just a big fan of the way Frankie Edgar fights. If that's the case, I agree with you.

Here if strikes count in this sport than take this. This is what i mean by the stats mean jack shit.

Compu strikes had it completely different. Had Edagr 7-2 in takedowns. Had Edgar 124-112 in strikes
