It's a little high but I like Rory a lot. Just not sure how big I'll go on him. IMO he's the most well rounded and best WW right now.

Jeremy Stephens weighs in at 149.5 pounds:nono::nono::nono::nono::nono::nono::nono:

Pathetic.

Maybe it is just me but Conor McGregor did not look that good at weigh-in.....his face was sucked in:eek:

Mendes goes after Conor McGregor at the weigh-in:eek:

I've got Chad. Maybe this Conor hype train is the real deal but I can't get on until he has passed this Mendes station. Awesome fight.

The general public may need to reminded the co-main is another awesome fight. I've got Rory. Kid is only 25 and getting better.

I'm really tempted on Nelson over Thatch at +160. The much smaller Henderson was able to take Thatch down and submit him and make it look easy once on the mat. I'm sure Nelson can do the same. Sure he lost to Story but he is a tough veteran and that was a good learning experience for him.

just watched the weigh-in and it was electric...the final 6 fights on the card are all off the charts......

I was on McGregor at +160 vs aldo.....mendes is a different story,match-up-wise?if you look closely, mcgregor has been matched very smartly by the ufc?siver.poirier, brandao, holloway, brimage??good fighters though not exactly a grappling-centric group?..it`s very hard to gauge McGregor vs mendes by his ufc wins?.mendes` is a completely different style and I can`t even venture a guess as to how mcgregor will do when faced with such a high level grappler?.but McGregor completely outclassed some damned good strikers(Poirier and Holloway were drubbed?those guys are serious dudes),McGregor has a 3 inch height advantage an 8 inch reach advantage and is a southpaw...mendes is super quick and has one punch k.o. power...

the worry is that mendes either underused his grappling or was unable to impose his grappling will vs aldo?..and a look at mendes` resume indicates that he also has benefitted from fortuitous ufc matchmaking?.the only real striker he`s faced(aldo aside) was swanson way back in 2010(before swanson went on his ufc hot streak)?lamas, lentz, guida, elkins, meza, cody mckenzie, rani yahya, omigawa?.not exactly a murderers row of strikers?.looking closely at both resumes gives me a greater appreciation of dana white`s long term strategy for bringing high level prospects along?

so we`re dealing with some ??? here?mendes disappointed me vs aldo by not pressuring more and doing everything possible to take aldo down??he allowed it become a boxing match(more or less)?and that`s not a good thing to do vs aldo(or McGregor)?.mendes has solid stand-up but he`s at a big disadvantage at distance vs McGregor...

the second aldo fight aside, again,I fully expect mendes to do everything in his power to get this to the mat(the team alpha male braintrust didn`t just fall off the mma turnip truck)?. wish I`d seen more of McGregor`s takedown defense but he just hasn`t been matched in a way that would give us a true indicator?.

I felt good about McGregor`s chances vs aldo...I sensed some slippage in aldo and I actually think McGregor was inside aldo`s head..that was more a strength vs strength match-up...this isn`t the same thing.....not sure the same applies vs mendes....I really don`t have a clue in regard to McGregor`s grappling or takedown defense?.I do know that years ago a very solid fighter(joseph duffy) took him down and made short work of him on the ground after getting buzzed by McGregor?but that was back in 2010..

many are saying this goes the distance.....sometimes guys fight careful in these overhyped fights.....I kind of doubt it because of the advantages each guy has in certain aspects of their game....I think somebody will impose their will....if it stays at distance(like aldo/mendes 2),i think McGregor will eventually get mendes...if mendes can consistently put McGregor on his back,i think he`ll wear him down and stop him or even sub him....

*unless mendes` plan is to put McGregor on the fence and hold him there...I pray that doesn`t happen...

the way they`ve been both been favorably matched(vs guys who have basically the same strengths as they do) in the ufc,it`s really a tough fight to call...

I talked to Chad's dad two days ago. He liked Chad's chances if Chad gets him to the mat. Chad's gotten better and better over the past few years. Chad will not be intimidated by Conor. I promise you all that. Should be a good fight....

thatch over nelson

he's fucking huge, and nelson fights so negatively, offense on layaway, thatch must have learned something from the bendo loss

lock = garbrandt

coby bangs paige vanzant, so he wants to finish briones quickie, so he can return to banging paige

rory over robbie(revenge)

mendes has a really good shot, but I'll be on notorious, he's been taxed to shit by media obligations and the entire population of ireland coming over to vegas, this is his show, mendes wins first 2, then conor can chip away and edge the final 3 stanzas over mighty mouse mendes

if mendes beats conor, I'll still take conor over aldo when they fight down the line

So I heard Pendred looked massive at the weigh-ins and if he just wrestles Howard, akatdrake and kickserv are going to be pissed.

I don't like that parlay, but I like you going for it real good. I'm torn on the Conor fight, but my heart says Conor wins - hence the nice sized bet on him. I question Bermudez's chin after the last fight. I think Gunny Nelson brings Thatch to the ground and beats him ala Henderson. But I like the other ones. My instincts have been off this year so far, so hopefully I'm all wrong and you smash this parlay.

I'll prob be adding Briones by TKO/KO +1400 if I can get it. And Nelson by Submission +350 or so.

What else is his father going to say?

"My son sucks at everything in life and he will lose this fight just like he loses at life, I wish I pulled out and he was never born."

Nope, don't think he's going to say that.

Pretty sure any MMA fighters father is going to say something positive when their son is about to fight.

I got carried away:lol: .....this is what an old, hooked up dude calls a "wild weekend"(but I`m probably going to have to miss it:00x25) ....I`m really goosed for this fight (and card)....wasn`t all that apparent how smartly dana matches his future stars(vs guys with similar, albeit lesser skillsets) until you take a closer look.....

anything jump out at you on this card?...main event is close...but gun to my groin I lean slightly to the Dubliner in a 5 round fight....

McGregor`s height and straight left is horrible for a short, orthodox stanced guy to deal with over a full 5 rounds(the way he broke down siver was almost criminal)...he`s one of those lefties that just has a stance and throws punches in a way that righties can`t deal with...

edit:..just saw your post...

I pretty much completely agree with everything..well said.....thatch dwarfed nelson....how in hell did thatch manage to lose to Henderson?

.I might put small side wagers on nelson via sub(+335...seems his only shot here but how does he get this monster down?) and stephens by ko/tko (+300 and change...he looked much bigger than Bermudez and I`ve seen Bermudez buzzed several times)....small pot luck plays...

Don't be such a asshole, dude. His dad is straight up with me. He would have said, "this isn't a good matchup for Chad." Or "Chad has an injury." Or "Chad isn't in shape for this fight." But he gave me his thoughts and that was, if Chad gets him to the mat, he'll have a big advantage. His dad coached him through elementary school and somewhat in high school.

What input do you bring to this fight? Your shitty record year in and year out handicapping these fights?
