Some extremely exciting fights and great finishes. Certainly one of the best UFC event's I can remember.

Hughes' comeback was amazing after he almost got a royal screwjob by the ref not stopping the fight when Trigg kneed him square in the nuts.

Chuck "look at my thumb" Liddell.

Hoops, most impressed with your Salaverry pick. Most people don't know squat about him and bet on his opponent. Congrats.

I was 5-2, 3-1 on favs and 2-1 on underdogs.

Wuiff pissed me off, as I wrote, counting on a strength and wrestling advantage, of which he had neither. When he talked about how lamers were focused on his wrestling and chance for a decision, I was arguing with him while everyone sitting around me had Babalu vs. me and were smilling.

Salaverry and Van Arsdale made me happy. I have a folking cold and am loaded on medicine and alcohol, my excuse for any mistakes etc.

PS I was so pissed when trigg kneed hughes in the balls and Yamasaki started forward and warned, but did nothing. Hughes after being mounted was the highlight

my thoughts on the show:

st. pierre had a good fight, showed a lot of skills, dominated a pretty good looking guy, but miller shouldn't smile so much, it's gonna get his jaw broken one day.

hughes made an incredible comeback, he was turning interesting shades of purple when he fought out of the choke, picked trigg up and ran across the ring with him, then finished him with the same hold he almost got beat by. that's how fighting legends are born and solidified.

it appeared randy was trying to prove his standup domination of liddell was no fluke, then walked into a left hook, and the straight right was beautiful. these mma gloves can be deadly with the right guy using them.

I was impressed with cote and doerkson, cote had a great chance to finish, and doerkson held on to win.

all in all a great night, pride goes next week with the huge espn card, it willl be another solid weekend.

cote and doerksen was very enjoyable....i really can`t understand why cote, when on top of doerksen, didn`t just stand up....doerksen had no clue as to how to handle cote standing up...it was a total mismatch....cote has excellent hands...quick and accurate...doerksen has balls,though......

i thought joe rogan was way off saying doerksen was ahead...doerksen himself said he thought it was going cote`s way...cote wasn`t as gassed as doerksen....cote had brainlock, plain and simple...

as far as trigg goes,he`ll never beat hughes...hughes is way to mentally tough for him...if it had been trigg taking that early beating,he would have been stopped right there...he taps pretty quickly when things go south,,from what i`ve seen..after watching mayhem miller take a beating and not quit..

trigg had no idea how to defend from the bottom....he just gave up his back...again...

he`s not as good as everyone thought...including me...he has holes in his game...offensively,excellent...defensively,he`s weak...he`s good...not great...

as for couture,it looked like another case of a guy not playing to his strengths....i know that liddell is hard to take down, but, couture never tried...

i really think couture,as humble as he is,was overconfident and thought that he was going to dominate liddell at his own game....

stupid...stupid....stupid... at 41,it might be tough to come back now...

and now the pride card.....an excellent card....tough to cap....

look forward to all opinions...
