Chuck beats Kimbo.....:142smilie

and weepaul has to be one happy dude right now...well done:SIB

You are correct sir!!

Between boxing and UFC I had 7 fights, all underdogs and won 4 of them.

I just noticed you had Liddell in all of your parlay's.
Sorry mate.

You will get them next time.

thank god for pellegrino...kampmann and hammill went belly up....hammill was extremely small...

basically a break even night....lost a little with some inside the distance props in boxing...

this is why mma is dangerous at times...we saw 3 fights basically altered or ended with one strike(marquardt/rashad and franklin).....

i thought liddell looked particularly slow and paunchy tonight...might be the end for him....

he committed the cardinal sin in boxing...he threw an uppercut from outside and evans did EXACTLY what you`re aupposed to do....he threw a right hand counter...

bingo!.......boxing 101...

i'm pretty sure it is. his power is diminished and his disregard for defense have left his chin in tatters.

he can't fight his style anymore.

...

i need to clarify this...after re-reading, i broke even in mma and "lost" some cabbage on my boxing plays.....by being greedy with those damned inside the distance props....

very schtoopid...:banghead:

weepaul`s nicky cook play was a big help,though...

smart performance by dan. he really emphasized his wrestling defense. not a very interesting fight to watch though.

I actually enjoyed this fight. I don't know what it is but i love watching Hendo fight. You could even hear it in the crowd when he was introduced. Yes it was a boring fight but i thought it was an interesting one at that. It was really nice to see someone come in with a game plan for a change. The kid has a very bright future in my opinion. Still as a whole i thought this card was boring and bad. Somebody has to learn to start putting fighters against other fighters with styles that will create good fights. Two years ago i could never understand why no one could beat Liddell. I don't think he has lost anything, he is just a very mediocre boxer who hits hard and beat up on ground and pounders. Lambert i thought was a stiff coming in and nothing has change my mind and Hammil needs to find a new sport. His stand up has improved from very bad to bad. Hell even Rashard punch was winded up from left field. A real boxer would have knocked him out before that punch even got close to them. For some reason to me it looked like Hendo's punches were slow tonight and he got hit rather easy from a guy that doesn't look like he has much of a striking game.

When is Dana White gonna come out and say "I am no longer in the Chuck Liddell business".

I have ZERO interest in seeing him fight ever again.

i don't have any interest in watching him, Hamil, Lambert, and a few others tonight. I think this sport is peaking out unless affliction can save it. this card put me to :bed: God i can't wait till afflictions next card. Comeon Kick admit it. This shit is getting boring. A bunch of tough guys in their neighborhood bars fighting each others. Liddel gets hit with a punch that is thrown from left field and he tries to hit a guy with a punch throw all the way from the dugout.:bed:

you may have somewhat of a point here spongy....

increasingly, these ufc cards have absolute garbage at the top of the bill....bisping/leben?...nate diaz/josh neer?.....

i love seeing so many cards, but the watering down of the talent pool,at least as far as the headlining bouts, has reached a tipping point....

or maybe its just overexposure:shrug:

not sure...but i don`t have the same anticipation i had when i used to watch the old pride shows...

always looked forward to gomi vs say a joachim hansen...or seeing crocop/nog/fedor/mark hunt/vanderlei/rua in their heydays.....

you`d think the talent pool would be increasing with the ascension of mma...but i`m not necessarily seeing it happen...

it kind of mimics boxing in that the heavyweights seem to have plateaued...the lighter divisions seem to have the most compelling talent...

it also mimics boxing in the fact that there are so many different organizations claiming champions....and because of this we`ll probably never see great match-ups like st pierre vs jake shields... we don`t see enough of the eddie alvarez`,jz calvancante, jake shields...etc... i`d like to see miguel torres vs some of the better ufc little guys

merging pride and ufc helped,i guess...

i love seeing all these cards, but, are they killing the golden goose?...

from UFC 88..

from UFC 88..

Girlfriend left camera in car so no pics from the weigh-ins.. dont worry, i :142slap: her at least twelve times w/ my Liddell vs. Evans poster. :142smilie

Really bummed to find out the Karo fight was scratched, i thought that was gonna be a great one. Hope it still happens.

Sokoudjou is a very large man, w/ arms bigger than my thighs. :SIB He was very kind... hanging out w/ fans at the weigh-ins.

According to another fan, Rampage is sort of a jackass in person... Go figure. (that fan met Rampage at UFC 79)

Thiago Tavares has -2% body fat.

Florian and Cole Miller were signing things/available for pictures b4 i showed up... Forrest did the Q & A thing, but it was over by the time i arrived (on Friday).

Had bad feelings about the Chuck fight all week, but sure as hell didnt think he would get KTFO by 'shad.

uummmmm.. drank too much alcohol..... need to watch some fights again... next time i see a UFC, i have to get better seats.

Ill update record later.. somewhere in the -6 Gina range. Im gonna pull all the stops in the upcoming weeks and try and get back to the plus column in MMA.

chuck doing his best to recreate buster douglas vs. evander holyfield.

a lot of durable guys disregard defense to a certain extent, but chuck is probably the worst. although getting knocked down 5 times in his last 4 fights indicates that he's not really durable anymore.

Hard to stick up for a guy when he leaves his chin sticking out and his hands down like Chuck. Amazing to me how someone can spend hours upon hours in the gym and have such bad form at times.

Muhr i think Chuck thought that there was no way Rashard could hurt him and basically charge him like when he fought TiTo just trying to catch him with a barrage of punches. I also think he was trying to satisfy the fans being this aggressive because some were booing the fight. Bad gameplan.

One problem im starting to think is the cage. Visually i thought there was no way i would rather see a ring before a cage but after watching a few dream fights with little Eddie Alvarez i think i like the ring better. Same with watching old pride fights and the Affliction card. another problem is a guy like Matt Brown. He is not a great talent but you can put him in there with a guy who would make it a great fight. Not the guy that fought him for goodness sakes. Where were the 155 pound guys? So much talent they couldn't get two of them to fight? Two of them like two good ones? I don't know if it is just me but i like guys who can submit guys and not scrubs like Lambert who is just a bar room brawler. But then again i love watching Hendo cause the guy has big nuts with some skills.

Well, I was on vacation this weekend, although I did see the fights, didn't get any computer action. Left Thursday evening and just got home today.

So, my thoughts on this card was that it was what I "expected." I was in no way shocked at the Liddell fight, as I mentioned earlier in this topic, I was on Evans. My only disapointment was how Kampmann fought. I didn't expect that performance, well...lack of. Rich Franklin looked as good as I've seen him in a long time. I was very disapointed to see Karo NOT fighting, someone's pussy hurt.

hmm.... tough to find a concensus here.

after reading this forum and consulting some other respected guys, it seems everyone likes Franklin or Liddell, but not both, so there's no consensus on which of the two plays is safer. Im looking for a strong parlay partner with Juan Diaz.

:00x32

my buddy likes pelligrino too, took him at pin +200.

btw Bucs I got Yahoo IM and added you as a contact, this is a big boxing and mma weekend, it would be nice to get a chat going with you.

Sorry man, didn't see this post in time as I left for vacation before so.

I'm not sure about anyone else but this card has me jacked. Not just because of my gigantic wager on Chuckie but because of how many very good fights there are.

FYI Bucs, did you see that both Rampage and your boy have had offers made to fight each other on the Randy vs Lesnar card. That would make for more than likely the largest PPV eve for an MMA event.

Yes, but I don't like it for 2 reasons.
#1- Rampage just needs to take the rest of the year off, and get his court case dealt with. You can't tell me any human being can go into a fight 100% mentally and physically with what he's got on his plate. It's just not possible.
#2- I want to see other fights for Wandy first. I would like to see him fight Chuck again before fighting Rampage for a 3rd time. I want to see him fight Forrest. I would love to see him fight Machida, but he turned that down, but I believe he did that because Machida and Rua train together. BTW, Rua has personally said himself that the only guys that he trains with that he'll never fight are...well, only 1 man- WANDY. Interesting...

But yes, that would most definately make it the biggest PPV ever. As a fan of the sport, I'd love to see it. But as a fan of Wandy, there are a couple other fights I'd like to see first.

When is Dana White gonna come out and say "I am no longer in the Chuck Liddell business".

I have ZERO interest in seeing him fight ever again.

Ahhh, c'mon. I said it before, but I just expected Evans crazy style to give Chuck problems. It was the same with Jardine. I certainly didn't EXPECT Liddell to get KO'd, but I did expect Evans to win. Chuck was like Tito. A gift of the sport and it's status at the time of their success. If you go over their opponents and break them down as to how they were at the time and how they are now + their STYLES, you can really get a true perspective of the fighters. Chuck is a very good fighter, BUT IMO, very easy to beat if you approach the fight right. Also, I don't care what a doctor or chuck says. One of my best friends had a very serious completely torn hamstring when in HS, and the guy isn't the same anymore. He can still play sports, but it's just not the same.

--------

I've always been a fan of Rashad and his style. He's not one of my favorite fighters, but I've rooted for him everytime he fights.

Ladies and gents, you are looking at the next LHW champ. He will beat Forrest, IMO.

ps- Anyone notice how good Rashad looked? He was in MARVELOUS shape it looked like. He looked very filled out and rock solid. He honestly looked like a black WANDY with a longer reach.

I just watched that Rashad vs Liddell main event again. Some things I noticed...

#1 Rashad was being patient, and he knew that he couldn't just go all-in hells bells. Chuck is a counter puncher and that's what he's made a career of.
#2 Chuck VISIBLY started to get impatient and mad, and you could see it in his face. He was the once forcing the action. That meant that Chucks wild open hands were going to leave his chin WIDE open.
#3 You can slowly see Rashad start to get comfortable with his strikes. He was slowly starting to get the timing and connection right on point. Right when Chuck throws that last strike with his looping strikes, he left his chin WIDE open, and Rashad landed COLD FLUSH DEAD ON.
#4 The difference in who got hit was the head movement. Chuck left his head wide open and straight. Rashad left his head open, but he tucked it, like you should when swinging for the fences.

Chuck didn't get KOd, he got KTFO. This is right up there with Cro Cops KO. Chuck was out cold instantly. I've never seen Chuck beat this bad. It was probably the worst defeat of his career.

If Rashad is the next UFC champ then I'll eat my own peanus.....no fu***ng way:nono:

ALL these guys beat Rashad....all of em:

Forrest Griffin
Quinton Jackson
Mauricio "Shogun" Rua
Lyoto Machida
Wanderlei Silva
Anderson Silva
Rich Franklin
Dan Henderson

and these guys would beat em more times then they lose to him:

Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou
Antonio Rogerio Nogueira
Tito Ortiz
Vladimir Matyushenko
Steve Cantwell
Keith Jardine
Thiago Silva

All the guys above I'd bet on before I'd take Rashad....no way in hell Rashad will be the champ:SIB

The fact that you listed guys classes above and classes below him pretty much sums it up.

Rashad Evans is alot better than you think...

Not only that, but Vladamir, Tito, Jardine, Sokoudjou I disagree on. Tito couldn't beat him when they fought. Yeah, you can say he would've if he hadn't got the 1pt deduction, but my response to that is, Tito stopped himself from being taken down....could've been alot different fight.

I did not list guys that were "above" and "below" all have fought in same division as Rashad.....

Rashad doesn't suck.....but he's got a long long way to go to be a title holder. I mean Forest would kill him, not too mention many others that would beat him. Rashad will lose his next fight.
