Look at Coleman's face. Other than Rua gassing in the 3rd, he was never in trouble and he pretty much dominated Coleman from start to finish.

Rua hasn't fought in a year, same goes with Couture. Couture got destroyed and Rua destroyed Coleman...what's the difference? Does Couture suck now?

If anyone expected Rua to come in and just be 100% full throttle, then you're probably watching the wrong sport.

he gassed vs griffin...

he gases in EVERY FIGHT.....his opponent was 44 years old and hadn`t fought in nearly 2.5 years...coleman was dead on his feet after the first...rua didn`t have enough gas to finish...

that was a pathetic performance...

against a good fighter in his prime, rua gets pwned...

this is the difference between pride and ufc...no stomping guys and kicking on the ground...no restart rests because you go under the ropes....

THIS was the guy that was an ultimate beast in pride?...

well,he`s no beast in the ufc....

he can barely go 3 rounds vs a 44 year old out of retirement who fought at an unnatural weight fer cryin` out loud......

disappointment of the night...the griffin debacle was no fluke..

Hendo was a beast that first round. I bet him but that was pretty close fight. well that is the second time i saw Shogun and he ought to be embarrassed by that performance. With that nitwit Baroni in the corner, the other world class gasser, i wouldn be surprised if Coleman didn't lose all that weight the complete wrong way. Colemans sterioded less body looked awful. There is no way Dana lets him fight again. Right before the fight i told my brother "i think something awful is gonna happen" Then i hear Rogan say the same thing during the fight. Shogun is a gasser and its that simple. Oh and i heard that Coleman was walking back to the dressing room and a fan got in Baroni's face and said the fight should have stopped and the ref made the right decision. Baroni took offense to this and the fan then proceeded to knock Baroni out. I hear they are pressing charges against this old lady.

my sentiments exactly Weasel. By the way were u watching on a feed? I thought the Davis fight was a lot more one sided then u did. Not by a big margin but it wasn't as close as u thought. Figured u were watching it on a feed. Seems like those feeds make a fight look a little closer. Davis is the better boxer but Lytle is a lot bigger then him and i think his reach bothered Davis. His wild throws tho are embarrassing for an Ex boxer i thought.

"the bunker"
my opinion.....the pride stars were pretty much one dimensional.....guys like coleman were wrestlers.....arona and paulo filho jiu jitsu dudes.....guys like rua and silva were frenetic type fighters that used alot of muay thai and fought at a furious pace and loved kicking and stomping guys.........guys like crocop and gomi were strikers....

there were a few guys that could do different stuff... fedor..nogueira learned some stand-up...hendo could wrestle and had some stand-up......jackson was a wrestler/ striker....

the ufc guys seem to be able to do more things...have a more complete game....their game seems to have adjusted with the times...

it`s hard to paint with this broad a brush cause it obviously doesn`t apply to everyone....

but wtf happened to the stamina of the old pride guys?....too many wars?....is it the rules...

maybe thongee`s right...the roids...maybe taking roids and stopping is like coming down from speed....except it takes years, not a day or so to adjust.....makes as much sense as anything else...

all i know is that when some of these guys left pride, they really fell on hard times(silva/nogueira/rua/my god crocop/i still remember nick diaz messing up gomi in a great war)...

now kang losing to a guy i think most would agree was not his better...and i thought he looked a bit gassed...

very odd....

the ufc isn't the only place where pride guys are looking bad. gomi has looked like crap in japan, as has mirko. kang is just continuing with his losing; what is he 1-4 in his last 5 fights vs. credible oposition?

and just like some of the top pride guys some of the top ufc guys are done as well; ortiz, liddell, couture and hughes.

a lot of what were seeing is just new guys replacing old guys.

Well I had a great night, thought the fights where ok but nothing great.

thought......

Franklin wasted his career by sticking with his training team all these years. He should have been with a better camp and trained day in a day out against better competition.

Kang-Seems to do this a lot. He's so confident he's not defensive at all. If he doesn't respect the guy on the ground then he doesn't look to defend, just attack.

Rua- GW you have to give him somewhat of a break. Against Forrest he had a torn acl or mcl going in to the fight and didn't train. This was his first fight back after two MAJOR knee surgeries. A lot of people didn't think he would be back at all. Give him a fight or two to get back in to it. I will admit he looked sloppy but hey he's my favorite so I'll keep hoping.

HELL
Rua should be embarassed. Coleman didn't even raise his hands for 2/3 of the fight, and yet he wants Lesnar. Are you kidding me? Lesnar would knock his head into next year. All this shit about Rua being the best pound for pound, perhaps, but he needs to seriously work on his cardio or something. He has time to get this turned around. He gased again and against a 44 old guy that hasn't fought in years and a weight I don't think ever fought at. WTF?

Part of what i thought was disturbing about the great Shogun was the lazy jab Coleman hit him with cleanly over and over again. Shogun is lucky he chose an opponent who gasses easier then him.
