The Stephens/Tibau fight should not even be happening, both guys missed weight:nono:

Although I'll cheer for the madjackers:SIB

yeah, they called it a Catchweight fight. Pretty funny to have a catchweight fight when one guy only missed by half a pound! :mj07: Stephens was 158 I think.

Tyson Griffin vs. Rafael dos Anjos.......that has to be fight of the night....wow:scared

Rafael dos Anjos will be in the UFC for a bit....great showing. And huge props to Tyson, how the hell did he survive that leg compression:shrug:

Only negative for Rafael dos Anjos is that he should have attacked the leg.

Tyson Griffin wins:00hour :00hour

I thought this definitely was the best fight of the night. I have no idea how Griffin did not tap. I've not watched the dvr yet, but I've never seen anything like that. I have no idea what it's even called?? This decision imho was horrible. Tyson might have won, but he sure as hell didn't sweep all 3 rounds. Preposterous! dos Anos was mucho fun to watch.

One thing you get in person that u don't get on tv is how brutal the kicks are! Dos Anos kicked him about 30 seconds into the first round, and it was loud as hell. Had to hurt! If they put dos Anos in against a guy who doesn't have much jiujitsu, he will absolutely smoke them. Griffin is tougher than hell.

ill be honest here i don't know anything about Baders opponent but to lay those big odds on a guy who got lucky with a wild wild wild punch to win the tuff contest is way way way to rich for my blood.

Bader didn;t get lucky at all. He knew Vinny was a pure BJJ guy which is why he never bothered taking him to the ground. Bader is getting hated on quickly but I like him. No he is not exciting but he's a pretty smart fighter. Way to often I see a wrestler take down a great BJJ guy. LOL

Bader took him down several times  but I guess what u mean is he didn't just lay there on him the whole time. I actually thought he was going to submit him with that d'arce or brabo choke (different not having Rogan screaming what the fighters are doing all the time, ha ha, I think that's right) 2 different times. Bader's entrance music was also very cool.

My observations:

1. They threatened to take our video camera if we used it. :(
2. We still used it, but on the worst fight: Bader
3. Had a laptop, but the fecking cookies problem with this site wouldn't allow the guys computer to log me in. I was going to give round by round updates to the undercard. BOOOO!
4. Completely shocked that all three judges had the Griffin fight 30-27. There had to be some favorite bias on that. Griffin won the fight, but it was much MUCH closer than that. dos Anjos definitely earned more fights in the UFC, imo.
5. Condit backers should not be ashamed; just lighter in the wallet. He's game, and I think he will be an above average fighter if he stays in the UFC.
6. Cole Miller didn't have to come down to Brownings level and be so unsportsmanlike.
7. UFC does a really good job keeping the crowd interested by playing the right kind of music and at the right volume. Loud, but not obnoxious.
8. Bader is painful to watch. Great nickname. GREAT intro song (to go along with his nickname). Freaking yawner to watch fight.
9. The 5 1/2 hours there flew by.
10. PLEASE COME BACK TO NASHVILLE!!!

Congrats to everyone on the board. Great night for all.

Thoughts on Kampmann fight. I'm not sure where to put Condit in the WW division. I like him and will look forward to every one of his fights but besides subs I'm not sure he has a lot to offer. With his reach and size at this weight he should be able to take advantage standing up more but he doesn't. If someone has good sub defense then he's not going to be a huge threat to them. Saying that, he is still VERY young.

Kampmann-I just don't know what to think about him. I don't know if it's because of Condit's size and length that made him not want to stand but he didn't seem to care about standing. It's almost like he's a wrestler now. I do think he is all around solid though and seems to a ton stronger than he looks. I don't think he can beat GSP but seeing him with somene like Fitch would be interesting. We would see how strong Kampmann is in that fight. I think Kampmann has one more fight and then could get a shot a GSP, mainly because there's nobody else for GSP to beat.

I like Kampmann a lot more now. He's tough as hell, and he comes to fight, and he's not afraid to get hit. :box2:

i like him to but if u watched that fight again u will see he threw a punch from left field that was deflected and somehow knocked Vinny down. Makes me wonder about Vinnies ability to take a punch. I liked Badar in the fight last night but not at those odds which was my point. No biggie.

If the cameramen would have seen the talent in our box, I would have had a chance.

I forgot to mention how awesome it was to be there when The Mask was honored. Skyscrape was a wreck.

I don't wear visibly branded clothing often, but I think I would wear a RIP Mask Tapout t-shirt.

i agree with the judging on the griffin-dos anjos fight. it's ridiculous that dos anjos received no credit for the leg sub, it was easily the most damaging move of the fight and no doubt came close to finishing the fight. what the hell value is a sub if it's only recognized when it finishes the fight? demian maia would probably have a few decision losses if he wasn't so efficient with his subs.

totally agree. He also had 2 kimuras that looked pretty devastating. Tyson just wasn't going to tap!

I agree with everyone on the Tyson fight. I was pissed when they said he won all three. They'll give a wrestler points for taking someone down and then laying on them but doing no damage but a guy almost rips another guys leg off and it doesn't count.

There are too many things that need to be changed with the scoring. I don't think BJJ guys get as much credit as wrestlers do for take downs.

To be honest, I think I'm just tired of guys coming in and taking the other guy down and then doing nothing. That should barely count if you ask me. I put more weight into finishing a fight rather than just trying to point your way to a win.

The post I replied to was about Bader against Vinnie Malgheas. Vinnie is a pure BJJ guy with no standup so Bader never took it to the ground, he knocked him out. Marrero is the opposite. Basically just a wrestler and Bader put him on his back constantly. Like I said, smart fighter.

dawg they showed that and then they cut to Skyscrape and Punkass and they showed an empty seat in between them. Then it sounded like the audience was ready to give Mask a standing ovation and then my station cut to a commercial. What happen if u don't mind me asking.
