bro, watch round 3 and let us know what you think
Responding as I watch the fight...
Round 1 - 9/9 if you ask me...until the last exchange, then I'd go Bisping 10/9. This round was pretty much a dud until the last exchange. Which is why I think there needs to be more 9/9 scored fight rounds.
Round 2 - 10/9 Bisping...Anderson landed a crip jab that looked like hurt Bisping for a split second(2:20 mark), but Bisping scrambled away and Anderson didn't do much with it. Then he started his antics and landed a beautiful clean right jab at the 2min mark. Then another nice left overhand that landed, but not clean at the 1:22 mark. Bisping lands a nice combo at the :35 mark and managed to steal the 2nd round based on that and negates Andersons work up til then.
Round 3 - 10/9 Anderson(but I favor 10/8 based on my last 2 sentences below)...They dance for awhile and Anderson is slowly starting to throw more kicks with efficiency. Meanwhile Bisping throws a few of his own for good measure. Both guys land nice overhands around the 2:40 mark. Anderson with a nice foot grab and trip proceeded with a nice kick at 2:13 mark, but I felt he should've entertained some ground time. But surprises Bisping with a nice high leg kick to the head. I feel like Octagon control kind of changed in this round so far. Bisping no longer dictating, but Anderson not being aggressive enough. Bisping puts together a few good jabs around the :45 mark. Anderson starts to pressure Bisping immediately lands a beautiful knee but threw it with no conviction thus got no effectiveness out of it at the :30 mark. Anderson lands the beautiful knee with :01 left and IMO Bisping was clearly hurt/out/done and one would argue that if there was even :03 left on the clock, the fight would've been stopped. We've seen that same type of "finish" happen where the ref steps in and waves off the fight. I will say this...Herb Dean looked puzzled and lost. He almost looked like he had no fucking clue what just happened.
Round 4 - 10/9 Anderson... Bisping comes out active, throws a lot of punches that appear to land, but clearly ineffective towards Anderson. Looks like most hit the biceps/shoulder area. But Octagon control none the less. Anderson with a beautiful right jab at 3:30 mark. Bisping follows up with 2 nice shots right after. Fight is stopped after a possible eye poke. Camera shows both men and it looks as if Anderson just got done at the local LA Fitness and Bisping got jumped in the street ally lol. I think that knee did some visual damage. But doesn't seem to have carried over into the 4th. Bisping with a couple nice exchanges just north of the 1min mark. Silva lands a nice jab followed by an overhand at the :33 mark. Anderson with a beautiful jab and uppercut at the :11 mark. Then a nice semi-superman punch at the buzzer. This was a tough round to score as I think Bisping controlled a majority of it, but didn't really land anything significant where as Anderson finished the last 1min with some good exchanges. Bisping looks completely exhausted(bloody mess as well) in his corner with his hands on his knees, and Anderson looks fresh. But that doesn't mean anything. Some people choose to recover from being tired differently.
Round 5 - 10/9 Anderson....Round starts with both guys coming out active and aggressive. Not much effective from either guy early on. Then Anderson lands a nice(but blocked) kick at the 4:10 mark. Anderson lands a beautiful up kick at the 3:08 mark that stumbles Bisping. Anderson follows the attack up with another nice head kick, a couple knees, and punch combo. Bisping looks like he's in trouble as he kind of covers up. Anderson lands a couple more knees and punches and there's 2:45 left. A lot of PRO Anderson action has happened in just over 1min. Bisping looks as if he's backing up and on queer street(no offense to anyone). 1 more minute passes by and about absolutely nothing happens other than some feeling out. Bisping does seem to have recovered and lands a nice quad kick at the 1:35 mark. Bisping shows his desperation(IMO) and shoots for a sloppy take down. 30 seconds go by of both throwing half-assed sloppy kicks/punches that land but not very effective. 15 seconds to go and Anderson seems pretty convinced he has won this fight(as am I)
The tough thing about these biased crowds are that the judges are humans and if we don't think for a second that these judges aren't influenced by their reactions then we are ignorant to reality. I can admit that I'll watch fights and sometimes react mentally based on the crowd reaction. Especially if I'm not focused 100% on the fights every moves. There are a lot of times it appears the fighter threw a nice punch but just missed, and the crowd reacts, but the judges may have thought something actually landed based on the reaction of crowd and poor angle.
Final Thoughts - Close fight in the sense that it was clearly 48-47. But Anderson won 48-47 but I don't think it's hard to figure out that Anderson won ROUNDS 3-4-5. Aside from the first 2 rounds, Bisping seemed to have faded and thoroughly picked apart the last 11minutes of the fight.
