Johnson has looked so damn good since his move to LHW but I can see him gassing in this fight. I would take a flyer on him if this weren't a 5 rounder. The Bader v Davis fight is one I just can't get a handle on. I've never thought a lot about Bader but you look at his fight history and he's been in there with some of the best and done fairly well. He's had some stinkers but he's also had some good ones. Davis to me is the same as Bader. I need a prop on this one about it going the distance. I think this will be two very good wrestlers circling around each other acting like they want to throw punches.

as I said in the McGregor/siver thread,i threw all in with the swede(he`s the kicker in multiple pars at -210)...still not entirely sold on johnson as the new mike Tyson of mma.........he`s going to have to win on the road and it`s a 5 rounder.....imo,he wins this,it`ll be via stoppage.....so,if my balls shrink more than 2 full psi(apologies to tom bundchen)by fighttime,I can always pussy out and hedge a little with Johnson itd at +300 and change....

like layin`I`m lookin` at the bader/davis fight...two elite wrestlers...davis more elite but will his wrestling actually be so much better that he can take a guy like bader down and dominate on the ground?....I kinda doubt it..if anything you`d think the grappling would offset and the fight ends up a stand-up battle.....so many times we see wrestlers end up in a stand-up fight....davis` stand-up has gotten much better and he`s probably the better overall athlete(he`s black,so that`s pretty much a given)....

looking at the records davis beat Teixeira and machjida(well,no,he really didn`t beat Machida..some of the worst scoring ever).......bader lost to Texeira and Machida.....honestly think bader`s stand-up is technically better but I just get the feeling that davis will probably find a way to win...and that bader loss to Ortiz will forever taint him for me...weird fight to handicap....

that hendo/mousasi line?.....really respect mousasi...still a little surprised the line is that high...you have to think Henderson`s power can still turn a fight(fedor/rua) and he has fairly recent split dec. losses to rashad evans and Machida(he can still on a given night compete with top guys)..... sherdog lists both as 6`1"...I would have thought mousasi was comfortably taller...

like many recent events, quite a few guys`s I`m not familiar with on the card....maybe take a look tomorrow...

g.l. guys...and g.l. to the swede

Paul Redmond weighs in at 149 pounds:facepalm:

He did take fight on three weeks notice but still ya gotta make weight!

Huge crowd at weigh-ins, Alexander Gustafsson is a god in Sweden that's for sure:shocked:

I think with the Bader/ Davis fight there is a huge difference in striking power in favor of Bader. If Davis is unable to take him down then he is likely going to want to be in kicking range. Two guys have improved their striking a lot.

Nedkov at +105 is tempting.......

I think bader should be better than he is(he has tools)....at the weigh-in(unless he had on shoes),bader looked taller than davis.....of course, davis will stil probably have a hefty reach advantage....

bader is tempting because his wrestling should utterly offset davis` wrestling.......but he just doesn`t seem to win fights at this level....I honestly haven`t had much success wagering on either guy....

Several threads online with people taking a lot of dogs. Should be interesting since faves have been ruling the last few cards that I can remember (thanks a lot Cathal Pendred :()

Anthony Johnson +230 over Alexander Gustaffson - I don't want to bet against Gustaffson, but you cannot ignore Johnson's meteoric rise in the LHW division. Guy finally has his issues, found his weight class, and looks massive even for 205. Gus presents a huge problem, has a chin, probably better cardio and uses his range well. Probably something tiny on Johnson because idk there's value on Gus...

Anthony Johnson +230 for 0.5 units

Dan Henderson +350 over Gegard Mousasi - I'm the biggest Hendo fan out there, but sigh... he's off TRT, looks like he's only headhunting for the right hand. Been talking this week that it would be really fun to see him mix in some actual takedowns and have Mousasi be aware of other things than just the H-bomb. He still looks in great shape. What to say here other than we hope Hendo has something more... don't think there is any value here at all for me personally, on either side. But, since I'm a huge HENDO fan...

Dan Henderson +350 for 0.5 units

Ryan Bader +175 over Phil Davis - Two pretty elite wrestlers, with Bader's fight IQ being less than average. I think Davis is a better wrestler and his striking has been getting better over the last few years. Don't think Bader can do much here honestly.

Phil Davis -230 to win 0.5 units

Don't have much read on the rest of the other fighters.

Neil Seery def. Chris Beal by unanimous decision 30-27, 30-27, 29-28

Good scrap, Beal is at wrong weight class, you can't cut that much weight and have good cardio. Beal was exhausted, it cost him the fight.

Good scrap though.

+180 underdog gets the win.

Viktor Pesta def. Konstantin Erokhin by unanimous decision 29-28, 30-27, 30-27

Erokhin punched himself out in 1st round.

Easy win for the big underdog Pesta at +380 odds.

The massive fave Bektic with an easy win, but he did beat a guy fighting on 19 days notice and fighting at wrong weight class.

But hey a win is a win.

getting nearly 3-1(reduced),i`m forced to hedge a bit with Anthony Johnson....anything can happen when you`re dealing with big power and your guy`s base isn`t wrestling.....still think gustafsson should be able to handle Johnson but, power is the big equalizer in a stand-up fight...

makes sense to be a bit prudent...
