I like Conor at 145 or 155. One thing won't change for him by adding weight and it's his precision. The thing that will change is he'll have more power. I would say there's a chance he might have more speed as well because he won't be so exhausted from the cut. Do I think he'll be champ, not sure but for anyone that says he has no chance then well they probably said the same thing about the 145 class for him. Saying that, he has some horrible match ups because of the wrestlers in the division. 5 rounders are very big for him when he fights these guys. The more rounds the better chance he'll catch someone's chin. In a 3 rounder versus a good wrestler I would be worried about backing him.

Won't matter soon for any of them, Khabib will be champ before long and he won't go anywhere once he gets it.

You guys save your money up for Feb 6th, MJers are going to be buying new toys after that night is over
.

if you`re thinking velasquez,be careful......werdum`s career is on a very dos anjos-like trajectory....matter of fact,i think they both train at the same place.....

hmmmm?.....

You know me to well my friend. I LOVE wrestlers that can win standing. Unless Cain has lost his marbles he won't go down to the ground once. Werdum is doing better but his standup is still crap.

I think I'm still burt hurt by Werdum screwing me in his first UFC fight. I was all over him and touted him as the next great and he laid a big fat egg versus Arvloski. I'll never forget that and will never forgive him for it.

I have to say, heavyweight is a division that I dislike as much as the women`s bantamweights... the division is atrophying.....the guys that used to be good and are now fossils are sifting back up to the top because theres no real talent coming in....miocic is the only really new face....overeem,arlovski,hunt,rothwell,barnett,beefoo, mir,nelson,struve.......they`re being recycled back to the top because theres really little new blood coming in...it`s not because they`re getting better...theres nobody else(remember there were rumors about lesnar coming back..that`s desperation)... the ufc hype machine at work...since 2011,the only guys cain`s fought(with the exception of werdum) were dos santos and bigfoot silva....that`s it in 5 years........and before that lesnar(lol) and big nog.....

where are all the new fighters?...theres big money to be made....fame and fortune...

back to the point, what i was saying was that werdum and dos anjos are on really impressive runs later in their careers and I think it`s"interesting" that both train at the same gym and look like completely different fighters now...ditto beneil dariush.....all on fantastic runs... what`s in the water out west?...

just saying be careful...if velasquez is afraid to take werdum down, his stand-up wasn`t working very well in the first fight... he was getting the hell beat out of himself in that second round and that led to the fateful guillotine....maybe werdum is a bad style match-up for velasquez?...or maybe werdum and dos anjos have discovered the fountain of youth(or something similar)?...

scary fight for me...but go with your gut(it`s usually pretty good)..just wanted you to know that these king`s mma guys are doing amazing things....theres talk of rousey training there for the holm rematch....:toast:

Ronda didn't lose the fight because of her skill-set(yes, ultimately she needs to improve her striking technique and Holms skills are what won her the fight), but she lost the fight because of the game plan.

Changing camps isn't the fine line between if she can beat Holm or not. It's pretty obvious while watching the first time she went in guns blazing and that doesn't work against a technical fighter like Holm. If she could take Holm down after being picked apart and gassed, I'm sure she can take her down with ease if she has a smart game plan.

I think people are just so blown away as to how Holm won the fight and how bad Ronda looked that we forget about some of the minor things that actually went on during the fight itself.

I think that holm was one of the few of late that actually didn`t play rousey`s game by attacking...she had the skillset to fight at a distance and did just that....

can rousey beat holm?...she can if she can cut distance SMARTLY and take holm down ...but she`ll never, ever win a striking contest with holm...she`s a lousy striker...the entire division is loaded with lousy starikers...matter of fact,it`s a terrible division top to bottom(when was the last time somebody didn`t actually rush at rousey to start a fight, aside from holm?)....the strawweights are already much more diverse and head and shoulders better...

rousey`s better than the rest because "the rest" are a sad lot...she`s a one trick pony(granted, she`s great at that one trick) but she`ll have to figure out how to get close enough to grapplef-ck holm in the interim...

this is why I was dying to see rousey/cyborg...cyborg will come right to ronda and try to decapitate her...but rousey will be able to get her hands on cyborg...strength vs strength...their styles mesh......

Well said mr weasel. Can you call someone a weasel while complimenting them? lol

Anyways, like you broke it down, there is more to a fight than just the result. It's easy to forget some of the minor things that happened in the fight when the result was that shocking and quick. If I'm Rousey, I work ZERO on boxing, and 100% on closing the distance and taking Holm down. Like Sonnen said, you're not closing a striking gap and learning that much new technique in 1 year, much less 6 months.

This is why I think simply a different game plan is all that Rousey needs. I'm not saying it'll work or that she will win their next fight. Who knows how it will play out. I can be a genius and say if she executes that game plan, then she will win lol

I'll be on Rousey big in a rematch unless the line is still way high. Rouse was at the place where a lot of fighters get when they're bored. They try to beat the other fighter at what their good at instead of just sticking with what they do. She may have to eat some jabs but I think she can get close enough once or twice to get Holly down. In a 5 rounder I like her chances. If she stays in front and eats too many shots then I don't. I'm not sure mentally she'll be able to handle getting tagged left and right.

I love it because my 13 year old girl is asking me when they're fighting so she can watch it. The boys and girls at her school are all talking about the girls. For a girl like mine who's big into sports and has played on boys soccer teams it's big because it makes girls in sport legitimate.(I don't care for any other girl sport but MMA seems to have and excitement factor that the others don't have)

The fight is a pick em right now.

I will be placing the biggest bet of my entire life on Holm.

Ronda was exposed as a massive fraud, she has no idea how to box and the chicks she fought, fought her like fucking idiots. Holm has footwork and brains, and that is all it takes to beat Ronda.

Zuffa knew Cyborg would kill her and protected her and kept her as far away from Cyborg as possible, now that Ronda got exposed her aura is gone. Ronda has no clue how to box, none. If the chicks she fought had brains she would have got exposed much earlier.

Holm will toy with her again.

Ronda = exposed

Ronda will retire after she gets toyed with again.

She is one dimensional and the camp she's in sucks. Oh and she is in a weak division.

Just use footwork and boxing and you beat Ronda.

It will be a pleasure to see Holm toy with Ronda again.
