His corner should be embarrassed for almost getting him killed. There would have been no shame in throwing in the towel.
And you're right.......he could die from this fight.
The corner is a tiny bit to blame, Hooker so fucking tough he was always fighting back, there was maybe a 10 seconds at the end where maybe they could have stopped it. But I don't blame his coach that much.
Rare in MMA for coaches to stop the fight, very rare.
It is between rounds where coaches/corners usually fuck up, can't get that upset with em in a 5-10 second window.
Also keep in mind his coach did "throw in a towel" for one of his fighters at a Bellator event in October, so he's done it before. The entire fight Hooker was getting smashed in the body but always came back, the ref corner didn't mess up the stoppage in my opinion, Hooker just tooooooooo tough for his own good.
Also keep in mind Hooker fought like an idiot, trading leg kicks in first round with Barboza was beyond stupid.
