Jamie Concepcion is a good friend of mine and his brother Teddy was on the toughman competion which was aired on FX.
He did very well, lost in the championship.
I have quite a few friends out there in vegas.

very interesting to see UCF action out there...I've been a fan ever since I saw my first UCF pay per view event some years ago...thought it was headed down the tube because of all the bad pub...but it's good to see it back...ultimate fighting is a chess match at it's highest level...those who enjoy that kind of competition can understand the heart it takes to get in the ring...those who don't will always have something negative to say about the sport...

I don't know too much about the fighters mentioned above...but I do know of Tito Ortiz...here's a small tip...however you want to look at it...take Tito vs. Elvis Sinosic misus the number for as much as you want to win...he will destroy him in a matter of minutes...take my word for it...line is very similar to what the Trinidad/Joppy fight came out as...and we all know what happened to Joppy...

I will be at the event and will be able to talk to managers, trainers and see these guys before they fight.Sometimes you can get a good feel on how good of shape a guy is in .. if he i 'drained' after making weight or his overall attitude. If anything that may effect the fights stands out I will post it.

Also these events are a bunch of fun.. there will be approx 10/12 thousand people there and if you live close to NJ (meadowlands) buy a ticket and check it out!

Does anyone remember the Grace or Gracie family.Had unique fighting style(called The Guard) of being most effective when on their backs.Seriously! Also there was fellow by name of Shamrock that was an ultimate bad a$$.

DTB--

You are refering to Hoyce Gracie(spelling?) and his brothers.... some real mean, tough hombres there.
And, it ws Ken Shamrock, also one mean dude. The thing about the Gracies' and Shamrock when they were fighting was that me and my buddies were saying that when they retired, that UFC wouldn't be the same because they were such great fighters.
Now, I don't think that either Gracie or Shamrock would have been champions- I think they would still have been great fighters, but I think the overall quality today is much better than it was then.
The fight is being shown at a local bar here--as Pat Miletich is from this area-- might have to check it out.....

For the record, I know it is on PPV if you have a dish or DirecTV. CHeck with your cable system but I believe very few are carrying it. Maybe with digital cable but I am not sure.

And though I am not going to bet these because I have enough fun watching them without action, Mr. Novak is very knowledgeable and I would certainly trust his opinion if you want someone to root for.

Also, check out <a href'"http:\\www.wrestlingobserver.com">www.wrestlingobserver.com</a> for match by match updates on the show. It is actually a competitor of the wrestling website I write for but if you want info on Mixed Martial Arts that site and his accompanying newsletter are the finest sources around.
