I took UNC ML b/c they are such a deep team. Also, hate to say it, but b/c I'm a fan, but more b/c I thought they'd win.

Terry has kept them in it first half. I thought the technical foul was bullshit. The guy is going up for a tip slam and misses the ball but grabs the rim. Doesn't hang on it.

I can understand a turnover, but not a tech.

you cannot hang on the rim unless you are keeping from landing on someone. i am sure roy knows the rule.

you have been reading the old testament too much. it is tech for anyone. unc is losing because they are playing soft just like they did at state. it ain't the refs.

I didn't see the play, but it can't be a turnover. It is either a tech or a no call. The only way it can be a turnover if it was offensive goaltending. If in the refs opinion the player was in no danger and was not making a reasonable attempt to dunk the ball, then it is a tech even if he didn't hang on the rim. If the ball is in the cylinder or above, it is offensive goaltending, in that case the ball goes to the defense.

This is my understanding of the rule...although I didn't really see the play, just going on what was stated here.

As for the technical...when I said turnover, yeah I was thinking they could call it basket interference, even though the ball wasn't close to the basket it was in the air.

So glad UNC won, and I won on the ML as well as 2nd half. Duke played great but the depth was too much and they still almost covered with that last shot.

Glad to survive as a gambler and especially a fan.
