We all know they don’t deserve to be in the tourney. The hate for UNC around the forums is loud. Anyone feel like this shitty team is going to make a run?

doesn't it always seem to happen that someone is deemed as not deserving of the last one in and then go on a run? They hear the narrative being thrown around that they suck, so i think it is a valid point

Like that year Syracuse was crapped on for getting in and then went to Final Four iirc

Or you can have the opposite.....

Last year Indiana State got totally fucked over and was left out. Yet Virginia got in which was a joke and then they proceeded to lose to Colorado State by nine hundred points.

So the "narrative" can go both ways.

well anything can obviously happen lol. I think that when there is a developed narrative often times the books seem to be on the other side

Everyone’s playing that angle imo. Huge nc love tonight.
Committee not gonna look like fools, so that angle is gold. That being said could definitely see them winning by 1-3. I do have a bunch ml and -3.5

Maybe a little exaggerated!!! While this has been a down year by UNC standards, this team has come on last third of the season. I watch every minute of every game. The team did not gel early and switched half way thru the year to a bigger lineup. The defense has improved by leaps and bounds during the season. Every one drank the Kool-Aid of how many q1 wins do you have? There are more metrics than that (Net, KenPom, SOS). In the old days how you finished the season meant quite a bit (won 8 of last 10)...Not so much anymore. Take a look at 8 of our 12 Q1 losses...( Ks. 2nd game of year. They were #1 at the time... Auburn, Mich St, Ala, Fla, Dook 3x). Who is playing that schedule outside of the SEC? Of the Q1 losses, 11 of 13 were on the road. We have taken Dook to the last second in the last 2 meeting where their average margin of victory in the ACC was roughly 23 points. This team team is coming on. You certainly won't find any Ole Miss fans who were pulling for the Heels last night! Funny how a team that shouldn't be in is now favored over a #6 seed now. There likely were a couple of teams who were more deserving. Xavier had worse metrics than UNC and had one Q1 win. Has there ever been a year when there wasn't? Obviously they played with a lot of emotion last night and could have named the score. Could have hung 100+ on the #1 D in the country. Just hope they didn't blow their wad and have something left for Ole Miss. Enjoy the Madness. Greatest month in sports...roll right into the Master after Final 4!

These are winnable games for them and it's not that they dont have talent but they have no real wins. I dont care who they played. They lost to everyone. They also got smoked by the teams in their conference who made the tournament. They absolutely did not deserve to be in this event and whether they progress in it has no bearing on that.

They can certainly make a run but a team that has a season like theirs should not make the tournament. That should be based on resume and results of which theirs is completely lacking. All they needed to do was win some games.

San Diego St. is equivalent ass. Let's not get too excited about that one. Then they get Ole Miss who has no big guys and potentially Iowa St. with key injuries. The set up is almost too good for them.
