guys..........kickserv has to chime in here...this is what pisses me off about my game.....yes I played pro for a bit.......yes I sucked.....but I did play...and if you really know the mens game.....you would know that this is NOT that big of an upset...this happens ALL THE TIME in the men's game..............ALL THE TIME...and if you watched the match you would see that Andy was far from "a stiff" I mean did ya see how well Muller played!! I mean hello..................and I know that many of you will find this funny.......but I actually played Muller 4 years ago......and have also played 6 others that are in the US Open..........and I assure you that the difference between 500 and 100 in the world is NOTHING....NOTHING at all...and the difference between 100 and 10 is next to nothing...........this is not female tennis where number 5 destroys number 100.....the men's game is sick............everybody beats everybody....and with ESPN equating this with some huge massive upset is just annoying....I read this crap all the time.....not to sound cocky but only 1% of the public and media really know the true depth of the men's game............man this pisses me off............and one last thing with regards to this match...........look at the stats of the match.....you will see that Muller BEAT Andy...Andy did NOT lose! And yes I watched the whole match.......it was a well played match...Muller deserved to win.............and as for him getting destroyed next round...sure that can happen....why because it men's tennis............EVERYBODY can beat EVERYBODY.....why do ya think I pick so many huge dogs in tennis......I mean I am some washed up crappy ex tennis pro and I have some wins over these guys :mj07:

so I'll say it again..........the depth in men's tennis is INSANE..........just go watch a tourney and watch #200 play #25 and tell me that you can tell the difference...............watch #200 play number 25 in the chicks.....well that's a different story!

Your talking out of your ass.
Roddick was -5000.
Learn the game.
How the hell can you say it was not an upset

You mean HELLOOOOOOOOO TO YOU.
GET WITH THE PROGRAM DUDE.

Hope it can come through I have 50-1 parlay alive with Hrbaty up 2 sets and a break, and Ferrer up a break in the first. Cmon Ferrer start off the same way Hrbaty did.

Well ,we don`t know each other. So i don`t know if you know more then me.
But if you can sit back and say this was not a HUGE upset in the tennis world, then i would have to question wheather you really do know more then myself.
Anyways,have a good day. :)

soultrain... sorry mate, but u r wrong...don't believe ESPN with everything, this was nothing like a villanova-type upset...
I don't think u even read kickserv's post...he's exactly right, and better still, he knows 1st hand...
this is why i think tennis is the best sport to wager on - parity of competiton (i'm talking about the men's game only here)... it makes the parity of the NFL pale in comparison...
This was an upset, sure. But not a huge one...ffs, Muller won a hardcourt tourney a few weeks back, beating Agassi among many others..the guy won the US Jnr Open title a yr after Roddick did...a guy ranked 60-odd in the world can flat out play... not just well, but sensationally...
still, if u didn't take notice of all the salient pts in kyle's msg, then I doubt u will read this properly either...

sorry i was away y'day guys, had a day off... back later with some rd 2 plays...

Anders,
Just curious what some of the criteria are that you use to make your selections... I went 2 days ago and am going again today. Its very interesting going to live tennis when you've got wagers riding. I watched the Monfils match, and while it was semi-ridiculous what Djokovic was doing, it just seemed like Monfils has a ton of talent but doesn't yet know how to deal with it mentally. After every point when he was on his coaches side, he was looking up at his coach with either a deer in headlights look, or a "hey! I just hit a great shot!" look. It was bizarre. And couple it with the fact that it seemed like Djokovic was going to die of heatstroke/poor breathing, and it made for a very strange set of circumstances. Good call, because it appeared that Monfils mentally just cracked... difficult circumstances, but still. Is someone's mental makeup like that something you'll take into account? Thanks for all the picks... you da man.

Hey Pete

wow, good match to choose to watch, i saw quite a bit of it on the box down here...
Novak sure pushed the spirit of the game with his timeouts, if I hadn't backed him I'd have been pissed off...
He does suffer from asthma btw...
Two great young players tho, this is why I like betting tennis, none of the public have heard of these guys but both could win a Slam title in the next 5 yrs...
Monfils still isn't suited to the hard court, did u see how deep he stands? Djokovic takes the ball earlier on the hard court, that's why he hit more winners...Gael likes to keep it in play...
Def take mental strength in as a handicapping factor ... pretty much as u would coaching ability in the NFL, NBA etc...
As u follow the tour u get to know a bit about the guys who are a little suspect mentally, which ones are more consistent... which ones can show up one day and not the next...like MUller, lol...
Crap day so far, given most of the cash back, but chit happens... hopefully can eke out a profit...

Cheers mate...

Anders...
Just got back from the Puerta-Wawrinka match. Wawrinka hits the snot out of the ball, though he couldn't close out Puerta in the 4th. Puerta looked exhausted in the 5th... If he had any gas left in the tank, he might have taken him easy in the 5th. What is Wawrinka's story -- if you know? He looks young. Also watched the tail end of Ginepri-Muller... Ginepri looks solid after years of sucking ass - maybe he matured or something - methinks he makes it to semis or quarters -- his bracket is decimated now. Thanks for your thoughts - ps the day wasn't that bad, was it? Soderling won for us... Spadea + Muller lost
thanks
