FROM OTHER place

The decision is on the website!

SPORTS BETTING IS OFFICIAL LEGAL IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

This is the line that I got from reading opinion:

The legalization of sports gambling requires an important policy choice, but the choice is not ours to make. Congress can regulate sports gambling directly, but if it elects not to do so, each State is free to act on its own. Our job is to interpret the law Congress has enacted and decide whether it is consistent with the Constitution. PASPA is not. PASPA ?regulate[Ts] state governments? regulation? of their citizens. ?. The Constitution gives Congress no such power. The judgment of the Third Circuit is reversed.

I am reading it was 6-3 vote

Monmouth Park in NJ will have the window open in under 3 weeks according to their main guy (Recall they were ready to open for biz a few years ago and got struck down at the last minute) -

New Jersey officials said they would allow only certain types of sports betting, at casinos and racetracks,

:jerkit:

Even when I'm in Vegas I don't bet at their sports books, I still bet online at Bookmaker and betagame and wherever else I am funded at the time.

Limited betting options, high juice, and if you're one of the rare ones that actually win at this shit, you'll get a tax bill. Enjoy. :toast:

For this to become legit in my mind (same as offshore or Vegas)

1) congress needs to pass a federal law making it legitimately legal. Congress isn?t passing shit. Forget this bill. They ain?t passing anything. They are useless

2) sure there will be states that makes it legal like Colorado made marijuana legal but it still won?t be like going to Amsterdam.

3) there will still be more choices offshore for the time being. If you?re truly looking for a sportbetting market across the U.S. just like Vegas or offshore, you?ll be waiting for a very long time. This is a small step .

This ruling will attract newbie gamblers. As soon as they become experienced and realize what is happening to them as you stated above, they too will be using offshores and no post up locals.

Iowa supposedly has a bill already to go anticipating this decision today.
I?ll wait and see what they come up with but I?ll bet it will suck as far as betting options and the juice you?ll pay so the state will get their cut.
If it allows me a chance to middle a few football games I?ll run over to the closest casino and set up an account.

One of my attorney friends was at a continuing legal education (CLE) seminar near Des Moines about two months ago. Most of the presentations were by satellite and were about the landscape for all 50 states, not just Iowa.

If I remember correctly the way my friend explained it, in most jurisdictions some variation of the following "scheme" will likely apply (so as to not run afoul of different laws or prohibitions in different jurisdictions, unless various states enter into multi-state compacts): (1) You need to be physically present in the state to set up an account; (2) you need to associate one (maybe two) phone or computer devices with your account; (3) when you place a bet, your GPS or IP from your registered device needs to show you are physically present in the state when placing the bet.

and the pot sellers still want the banks to take their CASH....:0corn

so when you open an account in your home state of Maine and you are visiting the grandson in cozy warm Alabama for a game against Mercer you can't bet the game on your Maine account since you are not there.

Now if the grandson is old enough he could have a "Roll Tide" account and you could ask him to lay the -55 against Mercer.........

. SO SPORTS GAMBLERS ACROSS THE USA WILL ALL HAVE THEIR VERY OWN LITTLE SHOP:popcorn2

I want to know will this get them off our ass to play offshore without complications

Possibly more frowned upon along with" locals" being cracked down on. I'm guessing" independent" pot sellers in states which have legalized marijuana are a little more careful now. Probably same with" locals" once this bill goes thru

My bad on Iowa. They did not pass anything this session as there was too much uncertainty as to what the Supreme Court would rule.
Fish wrap this morning explained it would most likely be late 2019 before anything would be up and running.
