The "host city" angle saves them a ton of money, I see why they did that. Although you are correct, 7 of the 8 teams have very little support from fans because all their games are played in Alabama.

It is rather difficult to watch and support your team, let's say the Pittsburgh Maulers for example, when they never play a game anywhere close to Pittsburgh.
