Got a call from Jack!
Hes sitting in his room, waiting on room servce and strategizing in his head
He seemed very pumped and I asked him if he had any music going to get him going....he said no, just the depressing news, LOL!
He is optimistic about his chances but said he knows hes a long shot to make it through the day. He has figured he can not play a single hand the first 2 hours and still be sitting with 10,000!! So that motivates him. He also understands even a 3,000 stab at a pot is damaging to the other players as no huge stacks at his table. His goal for today is 65,000!
He figures they will play till 3am.
He is in seat 6, facing directly towards the crowd, right on the rail. He figures to be staring right at a crowd that will be 10 deep. He was worried about that being a distraction, and bought some brand new extra dark Oakleys. Jack isnt the sunglasses type, but he wants to be able to look where he wants and be obscured. I think that is a good move on his part.
He will start at around 3:00 EST, I have to go to the funeral home at 4, Jack will be calling at 5 to leave me a message and I will update around 5:30 when I get home.

A tournament director just announced that first prize in the Main Event this year will exceed $12 million. The director also announced that there will be 12 instant millionaires at the end of the tournament.

How in the hell can Harrahs handle 2000+ poker players? Are they renting the Nevada Las Vegas basketball arena or something?
They have already eliminated almost 300 today. i assume no news is good news.

Most importantly, still alive!!! Up to 21,450 :toast:
1st round, nothing!
2nd round in late position stole the blinds 2 hands in a row with junk. Then, Jack is the SB (250) under the gun guy raises it to 2,000, Jack looks down when its his turn and has AA...Jack reraises to 6,000, other guy goes all in and naturally Jack calls...guy has AK :nono: Flop is K-9-8, but blank blank and Jack was up to 24,000 dance2
Later on, Jack limped with 66, someone raised it to 1,200...Jack called, flop was K-2-2, guy bet 3,000 and Jack folded.
Also from the BB,(500) someone raised it to 1,000 and Jack called with A2 of hearts...he missed and had to fold when someone bet.
Blinds are now 300-600 with 75 ante.
Jack sounded VERY excited!!

cool! If it's already down to 950, then they won't be playing that late if they're just going down to 700 players. Hope that's the case.
