Was the FIX in at Wyoming?

Conspiracy theorists that saw the end of that game certainly have some live ammunition to support their beliefs! This was posted by someone else on another site, but I think he hits the nail on the head perfectly:

Now don't get me wrong, I like to believe that games are never fixed and it makes me sick when losers blame bad beats on a fix. However, in this case, it looked so blatant that Utah bettors (like ME) have every right to cry foul.

For those who missed it, Utah (-23) was up by 31 with less than one minute left. Wyoming scores and kicks PAT to go down 24 with about 40 seconds left. I still figured I was safe as I didn't expect onside kick with game out of reach. As I expected, Wyoming did kick away, but it was short kick taken by up-man. Instead of just getting what he could and going down (since QB was only going to kneel anyway - and wind chill was like 10 below so you would think they'd want to get game over with), guy pitches the ball back to regular kick returner trailing the play. Returner muffs the pitch and ball lays at his feet for seemingly 2 minutes (LOL). Then Wyoming guys hustles in as if it is a 1-point game and recovers the fumble. First play after that TD pass. 45-28 final, fock all Utah Backers!

One of the most painful losses ever!!

Did anyone else see this and does anybody suspect foul play?

Yesterday was full of weird stuff-look at okie game-texas just winning-colorado scoring to win with 5 seconds to go on along pass--wisc getting beat-many upsets but it happens it seems all on one saturday during the year in college football-gl

i have seen numerous games where a team is completely out of it with seconds to go & the losing team calls timeouts.

for example......

about 2 months ago i had utah vs. air force & was up by 21 points (line was 20) with less than a minute to go. af kept calling timeouts & worked the ball down the field & scored in the final seconds & the utah bettors were back doored.

there are many other examples we all could give where it doesn't make any sense for teams to keep trying even though they are completely out of it, & yet they keep going.

i just shrug it off & go onto the next game.

hmmmm....interesting considering I dont believe there was any television due to the power outage. if it was going to happen this game would be the best opportunity to do it.

not sure......

Again, the game was on after the lights were back up. Utah was easily covering and got backdoored in an improbable way.

These beats happen all the time, its the nature of sports gambling. The safety in the Penn St game, the FG in the Nebraska game - both with no time left on the clock and no apparant effect on the outcome of the game.... except to gamblers. In fact, that safety changed the side AND the total outcomes. Thats right, a TWO POINT SAFETY! Those are just examples from yesterday.

Its not unlikely there is another example today in the NFL. Hopefully I'll be on the right side of it.

not that it matters, and i did have utah yesterday and got swrewed too, but last week utah backers got the cash when they shouldn't have. utah up 56-10, colo st scores three td's (legitimate drives) in the 4th qtr after alex smith get's pulled due to blowout. with the score 56-31 (utah - 25.5), smith is put back in the game, utah marches and scores to cover. i was happy then, unhappy last night.

what comes around, goes around.

All I wish is that I was on the winning side of one of THOSE plays. Seems like I'm always the recipient of being on the WRONG team in those circumstances :nutkick

I was lucky that I just had Okie in a teaser or I may have been typing this from my room in the institution. Sorry to all the Okla backers as well :bs:

Payback for the Colorado St. game lol...I was very pissed abotu Smith in that game since I had col st., I was one of the few on Wyoming, knowing it looked to easy...the hottest team in the land -3TD's, easy money, so I went the other way since when it looks to good to be true it usually is...But I cannot believe the outcome of this game, that was ridiculous...It seems as if the pointspreads have something to do with 80% of games, either Vegas has a couple Stephen Hawking's laying around or it really knows its chit if you what I mean

Oh forgot to mention but nothing Surpasses The Infamous
WISKY/UNLV BLACKOUT BOWL a couple of years ago !
Now that MotherFawker game was assassinated, look at all the WISKY CASH that day that was stonewalled. Nothing but WISKY cash that nite.

AND you know 35 years later , there is still talk in the Bronx that Baltimore Colts Owner Carroll Rosenbloom had a hefty wager on The New York Jets vs. The Colts in SuperBowl III.
Carroll Rosenbloom died suddenly and mysteriously of a suspicious drowning amidst allegations of fixed NFL games in the late 60's.

And then there was the ( yet another Baltimore Rosenbloom Colt Game) --The Vikings-Colts game in the late 60's being played in the pouring rain .. Colts were leading by some 14 to 17 points--don't quite remember and covering --- and then this happened--- Joe Kapp and The Vikes were driving down field with the clock running out and torrential rains and the ball deep in Colt territory--
( we call it here back in the bronx the fixed 4 seconds 4 yard game ) LOL

Well anyway the REF blows the whistle for time out with 4 seconds left in the game at the Colt 4 yard line to do what ????

You guessed it--
To wipe the ball off !

The rest is history because Joe Kapp throws a TD that should have never happened to back door the Colts.

I SAID TO WIPE THE BALL OFF ????!!!

aint life a bitch !? :yup

i dont know why some people refuse to belive in pt spread fixing.when theres money involved their will always be shady sh*t going on.just hope your on the right side of it.if a presidents election can be fixed in the U.S. than games can be tinkerd with also.for those of you who think fixes dont happen ,keep living in your dreamworld.
